Had to reload my PC and when I went to cywoody's page to reload the posting enhancer the add-on link is dead. He disappeared from FR years ago but the page remained. Now, his page is there but the link to the add-on is dead.
I loved that add-on and used it for years. I am not smart enough to create it so I'm hoping one of our coders here would take on the job. I know a lot of Freepers use it, too.
BTW, did you download from the link I gave, or another link?
Mine should NOT be .xpi, obviously..
This worked in Brave and Chrome! Thanks!
Firefox gives me a message that the file is corrupt. I’ve been using FF for FR but I can easily start using Brave. I use both for different things along with Chrome, mostly for Google Earth.
Thanks again! I really appreciate it. I got spoiled using it for so many years.
For anyone reading this in the future, what worked for me is downloading the .xpi file into its own folder, renaming the .xpi file to .zip, opening and extracting it in that same folder, then opening Brave or Firefox extensions page, put it in developer mode temporarily (upper right corner), then click on “Load Unpacked” in the upper left corner, point it to the folder you made, then click okay or ‘select’. That’s it. Done.
Thank you Bikkuri for the tip on changing the .xpi file name to .zip. That made the difference plus the rest of the instructions.

Is Anyone Currently Using Cynwoody's FR Posting Form Enhancer and Tree Viewer with Firefox? (Vanity)

For years I've been using Cynwoody's Posting Form Enhancer and Tree Viewer extensions in Firefox to view and post comments on FreeRepublic. They have made the use of FreeRepublic so much more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, a few days ago those extensions stopped working and Firefox now displays the following message for each of the extensions: "This extension could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled."
I'm curious whether anyone is currently successfully using those extensions and, if so, what version of Firefox is being used.
Didn’t work for me. The Greasemonkey extension requires a link to the original script page...which is dead....Jim. =;^)
Go back upthread and follow Pollard, stylin19a and Boomer. They got it working.
Got it! Thanks for the info.

**Brilliant find!** That Wayback Machine archive of **cynwoody's Free Republic Posting Form Enhancer** (FRPFE.xpi) is gold—classic 2000s userscript magic. Since modern Firefox killed legacy XPI installs, here's the **easiest path** to resurrect it:
## Convert archived XPI → modern userscript (Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey)
1. **Download FRPFE.xpi** from your Wayback link
2. **Rename** `frpfe.xpi` → `frpfe.zip` → extract
3. **Find** `frpfe.user.js` (or main `.js` file) in the `components/` or root
4. **Install** [Violentmonkey](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/violentmonkey/) (open source, best Greasemonkey compatibility)
5. **Import** the `.user.js` file → works instantly on Free Republic!
**Why Violentmonkey over Tampermonkey**: Open source, no telemetry, handles old Greasemonkey syntax perfectly.
## Your workflow stays smooth:
```
Perplexity Copy → text-html.com Clean → Ctrl+V → FRPFE toolbar → Post
```
No more manual `<b>`, `<i>`, `<blockquote>` typing. Perfect FR complement to your text-html.com cleanup.
God bless that Wayback preservation—and cynwoody's foresight!
