SpaceX’s Starship rocket completes fifth test flight, lands booster in dramatic catch

SpaceX launched its fifth test flight of its Starship rocket on Sunday and made a dramatic first catch of the rocket’s more than 20-story tall booster.

The achievement marks a major milestone toward SpaceX’s goal of making Starship a fully reusable rocket system.

Elon Musk’s company launched Starship at 8:25 a.m. ET from its Starbase facility near Brownsville, Texas. The rocket’s “Super Heavy” booster returned to land on the arms of the company’s launch tower nearly seven minutes after launch.

“Are you kidding me?” SpaceX communications manager Dan Huot said on the company’s webcast.

“What we just saw, that looked like magic,” Huot added.

This is a must-watch if you want to stay abreast of SpaceX's incredible achievements.

This is freakin' INSANE. They didn't simply land the booster on a launchpad -- impressive enough -- but they CAUGHT THE BOOSTER IN MIDAIR AS IT HOVERED.

I'm simply gobsmacked. We are very fortunate to have a visionary like Elon Musk alive in our time.

The Deep State wants to destroy him, but he has so many amazing wins, they might not be able to.

California wants to ban his launches because of his politics. Good. Let California eat cake.

California officials reject more SpaceX rocket launches, with some citing Musk’s X politics

Anyone who even CONSIDERED such an attempt might be considered insane.

Musk not only considered it, he made it happen (with the help of about 10000 of his closest friends).

It’ll take nasa 40 more years and a zillion dollars to replicate this technology.......of course with an idiot like Bill Nelson as administrator what else would one expect?

It’s not just NASA, since all the SpaceX launches are broadcast live, you have to think China, Russia, and every other country with a space program is watching.

Recycling the rocket boosters is a huge cost saving something every country would want to do.

So far, no country has been able to duplicate what SpaceX has been doing for a number of years, today took that to an entirely new level.

My point, if landing rocket boosters and reusing them was easy every other country would be doing it, so far none of them have successfully done it, although I suspect every one of them has tried it.
