I hope my son in Queens got to see it.
Both the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis are such beautiful sights.
ping!
How many Ukraine and Hamas supporting New Yorkers have plans to loot the nearest Louis Vuitton shop when they see a bright flash in the sky followed by mushroom cloud? With a brand new free purse in their hands, at least they can die happy.
Family in Iowa saw it tonight.
And it’s completely overcast here in NH. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
ARGH!!!!!!!
saw it here in PA (Philly burbs) around 7:30 — mostly red with some orange and purple edges — phone camera showed more details — really cool to see
been peeking outside every 20 minutes since, but nothing more so far, other than slightly purple-grey haze

Thanks BenLurkin!
Pinging a few buddies!
“you’re a roaring borealis”
Carla...Cheers.
I live on staten island and i didn’t see a damn thing.
Maybe if I had been awake it would have been different.
Able to see it last night in northern VA. Some neighbor kid knocked on the door a little after 10pm to tell us about it after I was already in bed reading. A knock on the door that late usually isn’t good news but the kid seemed so happy to go door to door telling people about it and held his phone out to me to see it from the pics he took. I didn’t know who he was but turns out the gun in my hand on the other side of the door out of sight wasn’t needed. The boy seemed really happy and apologized for knocking so late. I thanked him for the info and a little later, some of the other family in the house went outside with camera phones to look and take pics (it wasn’t showing to naked eye that I could see, but the camera was able to capture the auroras).
Wasn’t there a significant solar flare that occurred on the Sun recently that’s causing this?
They must’ve been amazing considering how much ambient light there must be in a city.
As I was walking home, somebody yelled “Look up! Look up! It’s the aurora borealis! It’s a once in a lifetime event!” I looked up and saw what looked like a long dull cloud faintly stretching across the sky. I guess that was impressive in a way, but it wasn’t much.
