Counting Down my iTunes Play Count (VANITY) -- Day #25
AC’s iTunes Directory | 10/1/2024 | Alberta's Child

Posted on 10/01/2024 11:05:42 AM PDT by Alberta's Child

Day #25 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the course of several months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so this will probably be done by early November.

And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)

Have fun with this, folks!

Pinging to those from the previous threads. An iconic music figure from the 80s had this one great hit in the 90s. You may recognize a young Matthew McConaughey in the music video.

"This loud Cuban band is crucifying John Lennon."

Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!

I heard this song yesterday again for the first time in 35 years and it is great, “Don’t Change” by INXS.

I will give a listen, but disregarding any politics, he was always a c list version of Springsteen.

The first time I saw that video I had to look twice to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me!

You are building a library of great songs there. John Mellencamp has quite a discography outside of the radio hits he is better known for. Everytime I drive through Indiana and start seeing cornfields, I get in the mood for his music! Haven't seen any Tastee-Freezes for a while.

My #29 song is by Al Stewart, his first big hit song from 1977 (released in 1976), "Year Of The Cat". It became popular as I was having my first crush on a girl from my biology class in high school. An unrequited crush at that but the first crush is always special nonetheless. So this song will alway remind me of...Teresa. I looked her up on the Internet a few years back and she is divorced. She should have gone with me but too late now, I'm already married and coming up on 40 years!

The saxophone break in this song is pretty incredible.

My list so far...
