The best way to end range anxiety is to do your homework before getting an EV and make sure an EV is a good fit for your driving habits as one of your two cars.

But that assumes a free market perspective -- something the Dims hate.

Of... they give up on battery powered toys and come up with other solutions for a non-existent problem.

How are they going to put up hundreds of thousands of secure charging stations, and where is the energy going to come from?

This appears one third dumb, two thirds evil.

It’s all wish-casting without actual engineering data and real world testing to back it up.

Until chargers take the same amount of time to charge and have similar range as ICE, it’s never going to happen. Besides, I’ve seen plenty of chargers out of order or vandalized.

They need to solve four problems:

1. Quick Charge Time, 10 minutes max.

2. Range must be at least 400 miles per charge.

3. Batteries unsafe, spontaneously explode, burn down peoples homes.

4. Battery weight is too massive, wears tires and roads.

Number 3 would seem to be a fairly serious drawback.

Battery cars have one thing. Incredible low end torque without wear and tear like tuned up diesels. Everything else is a negative. As unintended consequences continue to appear the cars will disappear.

The “range anxiety” pejorative.

Reminds me of “vaccine hesitancy”

I read an article about the Dodge Ramcharger... That sounded interesting.

Turbo V-6 ICE that hooks to a gen-set that not only powers the -e motors at the wheels, but also the short range battery pack.

Intriguing...

-e Caps (super capacitors) have some of the same issues that Lion batteries do... they some times explode.

All for an issue that isn’t an issue. The market place will handle this naturally as something ACTUALLY better than an ICE takes it’s place. Not something FORCED on us by government subsidies and unConstitutional regulations.

Supposedly there is a cure for that. The batteries short out internally from many charges. Changing the materials in the cathodes will supposedly eliminate that problem.........

My apartment lease specifically bans EVs. Reason is the documented fire hazard of the lithium ion battery packs, and the difficulty of putting out a battery fire. Also, the current power network in the complex is far too small to support a fleet of EVs and their charging requirements.

So the battery ban is easily fixed by developing batteries that don't turn like a Roman candle. Once that is fixed, then my apartment complex can look into the cost of beefing up the power, assuming the power company can supply the juice. And we the poor renters will need to deal with the capital improvement costs that would increase the rent rate.

I'm sure the insurance companies will put up their own roadblocks. And how about those greenies who would block expansion of the electrical grid?

And the electricity to charge them comes from where exactly?

I’ve got a far better and far cheaper solution that can be implemented tonight...abandon EVs because they are a ridiculous solution to a non-existent problem.
