Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a grand jury on charges connected to a federal probe that has shaken his administration, sources told The Post.
The historic indictment is expected to be unsealed Thursday by US Attorney Damian Williams, according to the sources
Adams will surrender to authorities early next week, sources said.
Mayor Eric Adams attended a gala Metropolitan Museum of Art with President Joe Biden in attendance — just hours before news broke of his impending indictment.
Adams was spotted at the reception just after 6 p.m. along with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby and chef and humanitarian Jose Andres.
News of the unsealed indictment emerged just at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The mayor was not seen chatting with the prez.
A lawyer for Mayor Eric Adams ripped the FBI's early morning search of Gracie Mansion as a "spectacle" -- saying the feds came to take one of the mayor’s phones.
“Federal agents appeared this morning at Gracie Mansion in an effort to create a spectacle (again) and take Mayor Adams' phone (again),” the attorney, Alex Spiro, said in a statement.
“He has not been arrested and looks forward to his day in court. They send a dozen agents to pick up a phone when we would have happily turned it in.”
It comes after federal agents seized the mayor’s phones and iPad on the streets of Manhattan last November as he was leaving an event.

That’s what I was thinking, is Adams a corrupt politician, he probably is, which makes no different than the majority of politicians.
The question is, why are the Feds really coming down on Adams and his aides and friends ??? IMO, he strayed from the plantation and Biden sent the DOJ to take him out.
It’s not a good look for the administration. If the case is made, publicly ( true or not), that this has to do with a Black mayor complaining about Hispanic and ME immigration it may inflame many Black Americans. The common man on the street knows they are getting the shaft - more resources going to new arrivals than poor and working class Americans of color. It’s already brewing in the communities and this could add fuel to the debate.
Garland came out last week and gave a speech about how the DOJ is fair and not at all political. I guess he was aiming for a soft landing when his DOJ went after Diddy and Adams. This brewing chit-show is going to be epic.

Agreed. Adams’ indictment (whether valid or not) is bound to upset many black voters. So it’s puzzling why the bosses decided to move against him when it’s so close to the election.
Could it be the bosses decided it was worth the risk to keep all the other Democrat politicians in line?
So let me get this straight…Adams is getting indicted for taking money from foreigners.
While Joe Biden sits in the White House (or one of his various mansions). While there is no such thing as an illegal alien.
Whatever else it is, it’s pretty rich.

The funny thing about the Biden DOJ prosecuting Adams is that it sends a loud message that Biden also pulled this dirty trick on Trump, and Trump was telling the truth about Biden and his DOJ using lawfare in a corrupt political manner.
Yes, this helps Trump.

Garland sees the writing on the wall - Trump will win and seek justice against these communists.
He thinks these prosecutions will show that he’s fair & balanced. It’s just a lame fig leaf and it won’t save his nuts.

I think it’s part of a distraction from Harris.....Also, to say “look, the DOJ is fair and balanced”.
You’re probably right, unlike Conservatives, Liberals all think alike, Mayorkas doesn’t need any special instructions to go after Adams, he strayed from the Plantation and as Mayor of NYC and could become a danger to the agenda, therefore the full power of DOJ is sent to destroy him as a warning to anyone on the left to watch what you do.
It’s like the Joe Pesci character in Goodfellas. He thought he was being invited to be a made man and they shot him when he walked into the house.
His career is toast.
