I know who he is. The guy is aggressively unfunny. His only joke is he’s short and he repeats the same thing in slightly different ways ad nauseum.
Being a good Christian also helps.....................
I’ll take 5 letter words for lousy hunter Alex.../.
What is vegan?
“Hart House promoted a vegan lifestyle that Hart adopted in 2020”
Rule #1 when opening a restaurant.......the menu should have what the customer likes.....not what you like.
Per California law I thought they has to give six months notice of closing?
He and Kenan Thompson were hilarious on the Olympics show they did. Thompson is able to be funny without dropping f-bombs all the time. So is Hart, but he does it anyway.
Hart wouldn’t be caught dead eating that crap.
That only applies to conservatives.
Liberals are immune................
That was his problem. He had no steak in the restaurant.
A good childhood friend owns two successful restaurants. Has high reviews, and he got into his first restaurant over 30 years ago
He’s a serious businessman, doesn’t drink or do drugs, treats people well, doesn’t have sleep with the staff, and is willing to spend 12-14 hours a day there - so at least he has those foundations (but not grantees) for success
I did weekend bartending, bussing and cleaning work for him when he was getting his first place off the ground. Although I have another career, I offered to help him on Fridays and weekends during Covid when he lost some staff. Thank God he didn’t call me in....
Anyway, the stories of theft, violence, sexual excess, mechanical failure and fire have heard from him in his years of operating a restaurant would fill a book.
LOL
I only know him from the Jumanji ramakes.
He should have used the Michael Jordan rule of thumb and replaced Republicans with meat eaters.....in any business you never want to alienate any group.
All the money is green.
High failure rate:
Taste fatigue...people get tired of the same old, same old.
Deficient market analysis. Variable prep of the food, so no consistency in flavor. Bad point of service. Unclean premises. Lousy taste. Owners and manager who know very little about laws and health standards. Don’t know how to keep books.
Best restaurants have a consistent ,delicious, product and keep prices at low end of spectrum. follow health laws and give good value for price.
That’s a good one.
Fortunately California’s hills, plains and meadows are still green with grass thanks to last year’s rainfall.
I’ve invested in over 60 startup restaurants in the last decade and I have two rules that have served me well.
1. Owner-operators only
2. No white people (I’m white)
Most white people have a romantic notion about owning a restaurant but few are willing to deal with the harsh reality of long hours for potentially low net income.
I have financed a couple of exceptions. I did 10 restaurants over 5 years with a white guy who was a restaurant manager; he had developed an interesting model and was very profitable with his first restaurant before I got involved.
Based on my successes and losses, I am an equal-opportunity racist investor, though. I have rules in every industry. I even have geographic limitations...for example no investments along the California coast, especially LA County (Central Valley is great).
