I read an article on Gateway Pundit about biden resigning so I wondered what would happen if he did.
It's no stretch. Just his health alone could mandate it, but what would kamala do campaign wise? She would become active president right now, but would that affect her current campaign? Maybe no big changed in that. A new VP would pop up, but what else?

Who have approved everything the left has thrown at them so far. So there will be a new VP of their choice and they will be approved by congress. The reasoning will be that the sky will fall if the position is left open for even a few hours.
Both House and Senate must approve vice president candidate in case of vacancy. 25th Amendment.

Biden will resign (or mysteriously pass away) on Sept. 10, the date of the Harris/Biden debate.
It will be surprise to everyone.
Kamala will be rushed to DC to be sworn in as president.
The Debate will be canceled.
Mark my words, Harris will NEVER debate Trump. This is a woman who will not even engage friendly press members. Do you think she will dare engage Trump in a two hour debate?

The Speaker of the House only becomes VP if BOTH the sitting president & VP leave the office at the same time.
The line of succession is a failsafe in case there is some disaster (like a nuclear bomb) to ensure someone is running the country.
It’s not like everybody in the chain of succession moves up a notch when there is an opening at the top. If that were true, you’d have absurdities like the President Pro Tempore of the Senate becoming the Speaker of the House.
Except that the law never stopped the democrats from doing as they please.
Look what they did with obama.

We are at a crossroads as never before - The Democrat platform is 100% contrary to the US Constitution and they are unashamed of it - they want to invent a truckload of new “rights”, while deleting those enumerated in the Constitution. They want unprecedented Gestapo-like power - and will stoop to any level necessary. They are the literal demonstration of the exact things they accuse Conservatives of doing/wanting to do.

I agree completely. The country needs to take a serious look
back to the 1860s when a Civil War was fought and the outcome
as to what changed the process of government. IMO we are at a
cross roads today and what the outcome will be is not set in stone.

One thing has puzzled me about the Natural Born Citizen clause.
Kamala is most likely a legal citizen of both India and Jamaica due to her parentage. She can probably legally vote in elections in both India and Jamaica.
Isn’t the point of the Natural Born Citizen clause to ensure nobody with an allegiance to a country other than the USA can become president?
Kamala spent her summers growing up visiting relatives in India.
India is becoming a major player on the world stage and often is in conflict with the USA (economic & otherwise).
Shouldn’t she, at the least, be required to give up her citizenship in any other country?

if johnson agrees, that would initiate a constitutional crisis.
harris could attempt to take the presidency by fiat.
if he has the stones, then johnson would also presumably declare himself president.
ideally it would go to the supreme court using perhaps a relatively minor paper order, such as each candidate declaring a test executive order to an agency such as the interior. perhaps that or something like it would allow them to bring the issue before the supreme court. the SC could then decide the NBC presidency issue and its application to the ascendancy of harris or johnson.
The Nixon to Ford short lived transition and pendulum swing to Carter might be too much of a recent memory for them. They will likely stay away from any unnecessary trappings or unexpected land mines as it’s too late to clean them up. Kamelolol need only keep her earbuds in while avoiding the press and climb stairs to air force planes while being saluted.
“Republicans” never challenged barry soetero on the NBC issue and in fact said it was racist to even suggest doing so.... except for one man who came along and started asking questions. A man that the Republican establishment and deep state hate with ferocious intensity.
She won't leave when defeated and the Deep State will protect her.
i suppose the reason i did not think of your (johnson to the wh) path is because i have not heard much if anything about it in the MSM. it led me to presume that harris has a clear shot if biden resigns. however, what if that were not true?
if it were not true, then republicans should have some heavy lawfare lined up to challenge any attempt that the DS would make to install harris as POTUS.
note that they might not even tell the Democrats— just let them keep guessing as to what might happen should Harris make a bid. If the Democrats are concerned enough about the possibility of a Johnson presidency, then it might keep them in check.
OTOH, Democrats could do the DS calculus and arrive at the conclusion that the USSC could be ignored this time.
That would in turn probably trigger a flyover country revolt, something like the canada truck driver protest but 1000x bigger.

Say Harris wins and Joe dies. Harris is sworn in as Prez. Suddenly, riots start popping up all over the country out of nowhere. Who started them?
The riots are so bad that Harris declares martial law.
Not long after, Harris goes on TV and says the FBI has determined that ‘MAGA people’ were behind the riots, and they are now considered ‘enemies of the state’. People are encouraged to turn in Trump-supporting neighbors and family members to local authorities for incarceration “for the good of the country”.
Your guess as to what happens next.
