As an old resident of San Francisco, who goes back at least once a year (and I will be there again this month), I assure you this sort of incident is not unusual.
It was, once, VERY unusual. Armed robbery on Union Square just wasnt done. Now?
“I used to take my lunch and eat outside there every day when I worked downtown San Francisco. I felt completely safe.”
1986-2019
Saw another report that he was shot through and through the arm, not the chest FWIW.
I used to regularly take the kids to the movies downtown, to Westfield.
That was @1994-2012
It was only very recently, as of 2020, that its gotten this bad. I was attacked on Market Street by a madman in 2021.
Au5ograph signing session per the story.

Yes. Like most large American cities now, it was once a problem that was managed by policing, but now...criminals in most of those places have free reign.
It must break your heart to see what that city has become.
These days you gotta be careful what you wear to show off.
Girl friends dad used to run a used car lot in a Florida city. He hired a salesman that used to wear all sorts of gold chains, rings etc. He told the guy that probably wasn’t too smart. One day her dad came in and the guy had been beaten up by a gang of ferals, and had all his jewelry taken.
Like I said, you gotta be careful wearing stuff just to show off.
The thug suspect also (accidentally) shot himself, too.
Kamala’s San Fransisco.
Indeed!
Tells me that's where Kackala is from.
Glad Ricky Pearsall is still alive. I hope his career is as well.
Hope the 49ers move to Sacremento.
“who implied that people who criticize what has happened to San Francisco in general, and “
We call them trolls, not freepers
Just watched the latest news report. Perp will be prosecuted ‘to the full extent of the law.’
There are a lot of Rick Pearsall’s out there. I hope Trump poilitcizes it. Tell the nation it’s Kamala’s neighborhood. Where’s Steve Garvey?
I know...it isn’t as if someone who lived there in its heyday could not fail to walk through it today and be shocked by it, with video evidence to the truth of the difference...
RENO would be more fun.
A more upscale market-—
SACRAMENTO is so crime ridden, no fans would be very safe there.
Fortunately, I never saw him. Maybe he wasn’t out at lunchtime.
I’ a native Californian and with the exception of 26 months in the RVN I’ve lived here my entire life.
I was born in San Franshitsco and I can tell you right now that the entire state has become a third world shithole since the democrats took over.
The area I live in is pretty conservative (80% Trump voters) and very, VERY rural, were pretty safe here.
Plus the fact that about 95% of us are heavily armed.
I think the last place I worked was the Shell building at Bush and Battery. I used to have to go there for meetings, and in 1995 we were stepping over sleeping bums in the Street and even the doorways of the Shell Building! At the time it cost $25 a day to park there. I lived in Marin.
I worked for a company that did the cafeteria plan for the city and county of San Francisco employee benefits. I was in almost every county operated building talking to employees.
Then I went to San Jose in 95 to work for the same company and open an office there.
Sacracrapo is no better, your just closer to the politicians that will throw you in jail because you bused one of their “SACRED THUGS”!
