“I used to take my lunch and eat outside there every day when I worked downtown San Francisco. I felt completely safe.”
1986-2019
I think the last place I worked was the Shell building at Bush and Battery. I used to have to go there for meetings, and in 1995 we were stepping over sleeping bums in the Street and even the doorways of the Shell Building! At the time it cost $25 a day to park there. I lived in Marin.
I worked for a company that did the cafeteria plan for the city and county of San Francisco employee benefits. I was in almost every county operated building talking to employees.
Then I went to San Jose in 95 to work for the same company and open an office there.
