To me, the significant takeaway is that we really don’t understand global dynamics affecting climate, ocean temperatures or long term weather patterns.

So, any models attempting to predict long term, global climate changes are fundamentally inaccurate. Any correlation to actual events is entirely coincidental.

Any attempt to use this information to affect policy is entirely politically motivated.

This underestimates alarmists. It doesn’t really matter what conditions are they can concoct their alarm regardless. It always boils down to seizing power over people and then dictate how they should live.

The Tonga eruption may have had some influence on the recent temperatures.

“...nearly four times the amount of water vapor that scientists estimate the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines lofted into the stratosphere”

It's still climate change and can't be avoided, run for the hills.

Do I really need the /SARC tag?

It looks like ocean temperature fluctuation in the entire period covered by the graphic for the last 50 years (or however many years are represented on the graph) has all been within a range of about 2.5 degrees Celsius, with most of the numbers falling within a range of about 1.5 degrees Celsius. To listen to news stories about the ominous rise in ocean temperatures you’d think the fluctuation was much greater than that.

“”As of now, these... conditions… are quite perplexing””

‘Perplexing’ because the ‘conditions’ do not fit their computer models.

Rush has often point out that all the Doom & Gloom is from computer models that cannot predict anything accurately.

Very close to this thread is another article about the war on air conditioning and refrigeration.

Perhaps they can begin by eliminating all the air conditioning in the EVs.

When you look at that last chart and combine the monthly data points it looks remarkably close to averaging zero degrees change over the one year period Sep 23 to Aug 24. It’s just a sine wave cycle.

The amount of heat generated and the rate released by the core of the earth has more to do with ice thickness and climate patterns than anything else. There are many undersea volcanoes and “smokers”. If ocean temperatures are declining, then the earth’s core is probably not generating as much heat. The mechanism of how and when this heat is generated in not well understood.

To listen to the “climate scientists” we would be running ships in an ice-free Northwest Passage and the Russians would be running ships in an ice-free Northeast Passage.

The Russians do run ships in the Northeast Passage but with the help of nuclear-powered ice breakers.
