The jar was most likely originally intended to be used to carry local supplies, such as wine and olive oil.
C’mon, man. Those things are a dime a dozen.

Meh, if they have all the pieces, they can just glue it back together. Museums do that sort of thing all the time.
Exactky. The patina will add value. The kid,can autograph it for future generations.

For those keeping score, that date range would put it sometime from the traditional dates of Noah to Jacob.

A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Fail.

"Celebrating the kid by having him back like he’s some kind of hero is just stupid." Matthew 19:14 reads: “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven"

The boy’s father, Alex, said his son “pulled the jar slightly” because he was “curious about what was inside”, causing it to fall.
...........................................
Why did the father allow the son to run up and touch it in the first place??? Then after it’s broken the father’s first thought was that some other kid did it?? Then the museum invites them back???? The whole thing is ridiculous.

I hope it’s not “You break it, you bought it.”That’s kind of what I was wondering too. 😀

Honestly don’t understand why parents take children that young to venues where they get will nothing meaningful by attending. Only cause potential problems for others.
See this all too. Couples often pushing strollers through a crowded gun show isle. Or, taking loud, unruly children to expensive restaurants.

We had a kid like that. Had to touch everything.
That is why, when we went anywhere, one of us always had our hands on him.
I tried a leash but he would just lay down on the floor and refuse to walk.
Dragging him with the leash was frowned upon.

Sounds like the dad was watching the kid.
He should have taught him what *Don’t touch it. It’s not yours* instead of letting his precocious little darling handle whatever he wants.
Kids need to learn that the whole world is not theirs to manhandle.

It’s an imperfect world, things get broken. Bad? Sort of but it was just a thing, not a living being or a soul.

Plus why put a rare vase like that out in the open and not behind some glass enclosure?
