According to the Washington Examiner's Jerry Dunleavy, who recently resigned as the committee's senior investigator looking into the matter, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) spoke with General Mark Milley and General Frank McKenzie before their House testimonies. During that conversation, the congressman indicated he wanted to "protect" them and even went so far as to give them the questions they would be asked....

McCaul also provided the generals with talking points regarding some of the more contentious questions surrounding the withdrawal. Further, he pointedly said that the responsibility for the massive failure does not rest on the shoulders of McKenzie and Milley.ntentious questions surrounding the withdrawal.

If the Washington Examiner's report is true, McCaul needs to resign.

More evidence the enemy is inside the wire. There is only one remedy available now.

Apparently, (Washington ComPost) since the fall of Afghanistan, we gave Afghans over 1.1 billion! of help!

Why!!!

Any help, given to enemy state is going to indirectly help them. They may have to skip on ammo to buy some food!

I just never understood this stupid aid for our enemies.

Yes, I understand, it is an humanitarian help, but still, it is money, which keeps the regime in power.
Otherwise, they may even help their own people instead of building atomic bombs or armaments.

Give help to friends, OK, but why, for God sake, are we giving help (Billions) to regimes like Hamas, Taliban or North Korea???

Lindsey Graham has been doing this for years.

“because???”

***************

Because House testimonies of such import should not be rigged to protect anyone. Testimonies are, in essence, fact finding hearings before the elected representatives of the people. Its hard to get to the essence of events, facts and responsibilities when those supposedly testifying are coached. The hearing effectively becomes nothing more than a scripted show.

In this case, the hearing is of particular significance as it pertains to one of the most disastrous U.S. military failures of all time, not to mention the loss of lives. We don’t need an exercise in damage control; we need information and insights to prevent another debacle like this from happening again.

Very good point.

Unfortunately, GOP voters in general don’t seem too concerned about holding their elected representatives accountable. They keep electing and re-electing many of the same scoundrels.
