Yes they were “me too-ists” because that’s what the public thinks it wants. Any GOP’er who takes a principled stand on such a thing will soon find himself out of office or stuck in political oblivion. If you’re a GOP’er and you want to be a professional politician (Have multiple terms in office!) you are forced to give the public what it wants even in in the long term it’s bad for them. Your horizon never goes past the next election. Doing this as a career (around 10 yers in office!)soon you and your political opposite ( the Rat!] merge in word, outlook and goals.

I bought this trilogy for a friend, a retired Navy Commander. It took him a while to get around to it, but once he started he read them back to back. His comment to me "look when these were written. It is all starting to happen exactly like that."

The only good news is that all of the federal and state offices 'responsible' are in cities. For years I have said the only solution is a wall around each city - nothing goes in, no one comes out. Wait 6 months after the screaming stops, then peek over the top to see if the problem has solved itself.
