SpaceX debuted a new Falcon 9 first stage booster as it launched a batch of Starlink satellites on Tuesday morning.
The Falcon 9 lifted off from the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex in Florida at about 9:20 a.m. EDT, near the end of the launch window, as weather conditions improved. The rocket was carrying 22 Starlink satellites.
Lifting off with a new first stage, the Falcon 9 rocket left the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex at about
The new first stage booster, B1085, performed as expected on its return to Earth eight minutes after takeoff, sticking the landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean.
SpaceX's first stage rockets have made 80 landings on the drone ship and 341 booster landing to date overall, something that was unheard of in the space industry before SpaceX made the first return in 2015. It also marked SpaceX's 59th launch from Florida and 153rd global launch.
SpaceX confirmed that the satellites were deployed in orbit a little less than an hour after the launch.
As of last month, there were 6,281 Starlink satellites in orbit...
Elon=Cha Ching!
Musk needs Starship to launch the bigger Starlink 2 satellites for his next stage.
V2 will enable direct satellite-to-cellphone connection, which will be a huge increase in capability.

Would love to get Starlink internet but it’s still $300 to set up and $45 a month over my current provider. :-(
“As of last month, there were 6,281 Starlink satellites in orbit”
And 2 stranded astronauts thanks to NASA and Boeing
“still $300 to set up and $45 a month over my current provider...”
Same here but it would be worth it to get away from my current ISP.....my problem is convincing my wife. Lol!
I switched over to Starlink for my internet provider.
The cable company here in the woods is slow, and when my power goes out, the cable provider’s does too.
Now my Generac powers Starlink too. 10x faster than podunk provider!
Hasn’t Musk been asked to work on that, too?
Ya know Biden is going to say he did it he steals what other people do all the time.
Not that I know of but I wouldn’t doubt if there’s been communication behind the scenes.
I think I read that they’re considering rescuing them in a Dragon capsule.
Thanks
the space activities that spacex is conducting today was 100% science fiction 25 years ago ...
