They’re doing the same thing to RAM trucks, getting rid of the V-8 and replacing with twin turbo straight 6. I don’t want to hear a whine of a turbo, I want to feel the rumble of the V-8. I predict truck owners will opt for a 2500 with a V-8 or diesel before a twin turbo, at least I will.
Toyota is doing it as well, and of course you pay extra for something that is not going to be as reliable.
“..I predict truck owners will opt for a 2500 with a V-8...”
Your prediction is pretty accurate.
Bought a ‘23 RAM V-8 6.4 Hemi in a base 2500 last fall before they quit making em....love it.
I don’t need the 2500 chassis as I don’t tow anything that heavy that warrants it, but I bought the truck for the engine. IF they hadn’t screwed up the V-8 in the 1500 truck by putting that goofy e-torque system on it, I’d have stuck with a 1500. I just wanted a plain, old V-8 without all the goofy junk on it, and the only way to get it in the RAM was to go to a 2500.
BTW, I’m not alone in that. I’ve got a couple of friends that had previously done the same thing which gave me the idea to go to the 2500.
The diesel trucks will be illegal in California. Some already are.
At least a straight 6 has perfect primary and secondary balance. Unlike those abortions called V-6s.
