How did a person like this ever get to the top of such an iconic American brand?
The rest of the board is as whacko and American hating as the queer German.
It's not just that sales are dying. The recent trend is Harley riders "de-badging" their Harleys. They can't sell their motorcycles to buy an Indian or a custom motorcycle because they're too far invested into them and the price dropped anyway because their peers don't want to be seen on a trannycycle.
In addition, Harley-Davidson had become an apparel and "lifestyle" company years ago and now more riders leaving their Harley apparel at home because it's an embarrassment.
So... Harley-Davidson management didn’t care a whit about the riders but when the stockholders complain - time to react.
But I’ve already performed my Badgectomy! (Side tanks, Sissy Bar, luggage rack, side covers, etc). I used decals and reflectors, and it came out really nice. I want proof before I uncover those HD logos.
I did have a nice ride today though.
Saw some story that the CEO of sales in Europe was going all in on DEI polices last week for Harley-Davidson, wonder if the memo arrived late?
Now, keep manufacturing in the USA!
I’m a Proud De-Badger.
Harley-Davidson management was all in on Didn't Earn It (DEI) right up to the point it blew up in their face. They're going to backpedal like mad but it's too late.
In addition to Indian seeing a sales uptick, expect to see someone resurrect an old motorcycle name such as Ace, Crocker, or Henderson. I would also expect that even some die-hard Harley riders will do the unthinkable and ride a Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, or Yamaha.
Yup—as the left likes to say....
There must be accountability.
Fire the CEO and the team below them.
I ride a 2014 Harley Davidson FLHTK, and I also ride a 2014 BMW GS1200 Adventure. I really don’t care what the stupid CEO’s do, I love both bikes. Yes he should be fired, be he doesn’t define HD. It is a company of many devoted employees and great products, with an incredible history. Don’t let one little man ruin it for you. I’ll say it again, POS CEO’s don’t define a company.
“We are saddened by the negativity on social media over the last few weeks, designed to divide the Harley-Davidson community,”
They, by DEFINITION , divide people into groups, and then when people object Harley Davison calls THEM dividers. “Agree with me or your divisive”. Pretty damned ignorant and autocratic if you ask me…
Projection.
It’s what they do.................
How else are the leftists supposed to fundamentally change the country. They destroy icons so there is no trace of Americana, then we fit nicely into the new world order. This all isn’t happenstance.
I never cared for Harley-Davidson as they are expensive to upkeep and rough riding but many did and still do I was at lunch today and saw a fresh motorcycle accident which was a dude riding a Harley, he was in a very bad way.
I agree with you. I love my 93FXR. I’ve been riding it for 30 years.
My rebadging can be reversed WHEN and IF they apologize in full (including firing the moles whose purpose was to destroy the brand).
My late hubby had a 95 FLHTC. It was a gorgeous Bike.
A fish rots from the head and yes, one CEO can define and ruin a company.
Don’t let one little man ruin it for you.
I would be surprised if the CEO is around much longer
Too late. Yet another American Great lost. And so goes our culture. There remain now only a few whiffs of what we once were, and even those are fading.
He'd be gone already if they had his replacement lined up but who wants to step into that job now? Good luck with that bonus based on stock price.
On a related note, expect to see Dana White from the UFC endorsing Harley-Davidson like he has shilled for Bud Light after Transheuser Busch sicced their troon on the public.
