I've been a fan of watching YouTube accounts of Near Death Experiences lately. There are certain common elements:
Various neuroscientists have stated that simple biological processes of death produce these effects. Maybe the tunnel and the light can be explained by this, but the rest? No way. I cannot think that mere biological processes could manifest such a detailed series of accounts. Nor is there any evolutionary benefit to these processes, obviously... you are dead, right? Evolution is highly unlikely to be a factor here.
So this, to me, seems like quasi-scientific proof of a God. Now, religions have added all sorts of nonsense around these concepts, since almost to a person, the subject of an NDE describes a God that is utterly nonjudgemental and loving. So, take the 10 Commandments: Seems like the 10 Commandments were written to make OUR lives better, and it is not some cosmic scorecard that God is judging us on.
One person I know personally that had an NDE, would not talk a lot about it, but the one thing he did relate is that 'all the nonsense religion spouts? The beings on the other side, they don't care. Just be loving.'
And that aligns with what Jesus said: To love God with all your heart, and to love your fellow man.
Isn't it possible that God directs our soul into a specific set of parents with their beliefs or nonbeliefs, and their specific circumstances—for His reasons? The Bible indicates that there is a hierarchy of angels in heaven. Perhaps there is an "organization chart" for whom a soul "reports to."
What a great testimony.
The day before my mom passed, I went into her room to visit her, with her having been in a coma for a week at that point.
As soon as I walked into the room, I knew that she was gone, although her body was still functioning.
It was the eeriest thing.
I also witnessed a death where the person, who was clearly dying , suddenly shift their gaze upward and raised their hands twice, dropped them and breathed their last breath.
Very odd experiences for sure.
Indeed and they then go on to advocate for all kinds of unscriptural beliefs, theology, and abilities.
Basing theology on experience, no matter how real it seems, rather than Scripture is a sure recipe for deception.
well concidering this happened close to 40 yrs ago.. i should write it all down.
That’s right!
Catholic for 70 years, I’ve been blessed messages from God via a simple apparition. It’s God telling me someone’s soul has arrived in Heaven which delights me having prayed for the Holy Souls daily for years.
It seems some word of faith members, like Jesse Duplantis, did not get the memo. He said he has been to Heaven. He also says God asks him for his opinion on issues. I highly doubt that. 👎
I’ve had two medical emergencies where I have been dying. In both cases I didn’t even know it. They didn’t have to bring me back or anything, but in neither instance was I afraid. The peace of God passes all understanding.
The first one is John 9:1, if I remember correctly.
Haven’t read through all the posts yet, but Thanatos on YouTube is very good.
I’ve watched hundreds of NDE videos and conclude with Paul in I Corinthians 3:12
...For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known...
I worked in Hospice and at first was surprised, but gradually came to accept our frequent communication with the other side. It strengthened my faith and often gave reassurance to families of those passing.
Would you add me as well, sir?
“The beings on the other side, they don’t care. Just be loving.’”
Can you dismiss that these beings aren’t deceptive, perhaps demons? Why trust that they’re telling the truth?
“There is a higher level of understanding that brings all religions together without discounting them individually.”
Jesus said that there was one way to The Father. This statement seems to disagree with Jesus.
BTW: I read many of your posts with high interest! God Bless.
Lazarus was Raised from Death...
Can you add me to the list please? Many thanks.
Very good questions.
Allow me to answer your second comment/question first.
Jesus stated in John 14 that no one will find Our Father except through Him. That is a very true statement. I can personally attest to that truth.
However, if a Buddhist stated that no one could get to God except through Buddha, I agree with that too.
And if a Hindu stated that no one could find God except through Krishna, I agree with that too.
But how can they all be true?
Consider a different model. Finding God is not by following someone down a path to a destination. It is a journey inward. Let’s consider a different model that better represents reality.
In the same Chapter of the Bible mentioned above, John 14, Jesus states that He is in Our Father and Our Father is in Him. Further down in the same chapter, Jesus states, “If I am in you (this is what communion is all about), then My Father that is in Me is also in you.
Also remember my comments about our conscious awareness expanding in transcendence as our soul grows. We exist in Jesus and in God.
Let’s use a model of Russian Nesting Dolls where we are the little doll in the middle and God is the big outer doll in which we exist. Between us and God there are many other dolls. We cannot become one with God, the big outer doll without going through all the dolls between us and God. Thus, no matter your religion, you cannot get to God except through Jesus.
I mentioned previously that I personally have met Jews, Buddhists, and Hindus who met Jesus during their NDE. They don’t share that except in confidence as it would destroy their family identity. The shared it with me privately.
Jesus is here right now, but most cannot see or hear Him as their conscious awareness is limited to their physical body. He is my Savior, not because He died on the cross, but because He lowered Himself to our low level to teach us how to grow. This is why the question mentioned in John 4:1 is so powerful in testing spirits. It works and has saved me from imitators.
🙏
“Can you dismiss that these beings aren’t deceptive, perhaps demons? Why trust that they’re telling the truth?”
Again, a very good question.
Discernment is critically important in identifying imitators.
First I use the words in the Bible and test what they say vs the Bible. I accept the Bible as the truth.
Second, I’ve used John’s words in 1 John 4:1 on how to test spirits.
Probably the most important is to constantly invite the Holy Spirit or Helper Spirit into you. It will guide you and teach you. It has saved me from my stupidity many times.
Finally, by the feeling of Love. An imitator spirit cannot radiate Love. Not only that, they are afraid of Love. This is why Jesus advised us to Love our enemies.
I’ve had demonic spirits attack me many times when doing exorcisms. They have taken over people’s bodies and came charging at me, growling, hossing, barking and screaming. They get about 5 feet from me and stop dead like they hit a wall. It is not me that stopped them, but the Holy Spirit flowing through me. They are very afraid of it.
It is that same radiant Light that controls demonic spirits when removing them from a person’s physical body. If you experience fear, you lose. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit it is impossible to experience fear as the perfect Love of the Holy Spirit casts out all fear.
The closer you grow toward Heaven, you enter an area where imposter spirits cannot exist. You will know by the Love and Light these beings radiate that you can trust them.
🙏
Thank you for doing Hospice work. It is very valuable to all parties, you, the dying person and the family.
I too have done hospice work for many years.
My first Hospice assignment was a surgeon who was dying of cancer. It was in the early 1990’s. He was a devout Muslim and read the Koran every day. He was never married, and no children or family in the country. We spent a lot of time together. He shared his Koran with me and I shared my Bible with him. We became great friends.
If we measure a person by how Christ like they are in their words and actions, this Muslim man was more Christian than most proclaiming Christians.
He gave me his well worn Koran as a gift before he died. I am eternally grateful for having met and learned from him.
I was also very thankful that this experience happened prior to 9-11 as I knew because of him that not all Muslims are evil.
“He said he has been to Heaven. He also says God asks him for his opinion on issues.”
Super blasphemy. What’s worse is that some people fall for that con.
Anyone who has dreams or visions from God knows the lasting impact the experience can leave. Like so many things it is often private and cannot easily be shared.
Jesus told the Thief on the cross that ‘today’ he would be with him in Paradise. This is the immediate destination upon death but is clearly not a final destination whatever else the Paradise of God may represent with fountains of living waters and more. The book of Revelation raises more questions about our final home than it answers, that said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Jesus told us that where he is we may be also. Where he is I pray we are all received into.
Paul had a similar experience where he was shown things he was not allowed to describe or even lawfully talk about:
“I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.” 2 Corinthians 12:2
Ecclesiastes Chapter 12 embodies much of what this thread is seeking answers for,
Solomon wrote about the Silver Cord that snaps and we fly away. That spiritual living soul attachment to our bodies that many of these NDE reports have mentioned:
“Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:6-7
And a life review:
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Any messages conveyed where we’re left to believe there are multiple ways to salvation outside of receiving the Jubilee of Christ Jesus, that his death, burial and resurrection according to the scriptures providing the kinsman redeemer provisions of the Law of Moses to as many as will receive it, that Christ is not the ONLY way - is a deception and the very one we’ve been warned about. The spirit of anti-Christ.
My thoughts:
The spirit world operates in a bizarre manner and is not at all how we might believe it should work using only our understandings in the flesh. I believe that where we can see the spooky action of quantum mechanics is also where our reality abuts up against the spirit realm with losing locality and spacetime. Recall how a risen Jesus entered and departed a room without going through a physical door.
It is outside of our ability to clearly perceive beyond three dimensions and time (we exist only halfway in time moving only one direction, forward) and our ability to perceive in the flesh, but I believe there are times when our soul detachment is so extremely pushed to the forefront by some severe physical trauma or bodily shutdown and then what is always at work around us may become perceptible or even very briefly interactive.
Like blood in the water to a pool of sharks, hence the potential for manifesting great deception and doctrines of demons.
