Perhaps you are more impressed with the pre-Wayne-Newton Barbie edition of Matt Gaetz?

“So what and will replace it?”

Nothing. It will be one party rule. The National Communist Party.

“The vote manipulating and manufacturing enterprise of the Democrats was perfected in 2020 and will be extended down ballot this year.”

Yes, they will basically be appointing a puppet of their choice. Requirements? Upright and breathing.

Do you possess an iota of good sense to see that Matt Gaetz is nothing more than an impulsive, self-serving chameleon?

Kamala is heir perfect puppet. She is distracting and doesn’t make sense when she talks unless scripted and the Politburo can control that facet of her persona easily enough.

“It seems pretty clear that he played a central role in getting rid of McCarthy. That alone counts highly in his favor.”

He worked with Democrats to oust McCarthy. The great majority of Republicans supported McCarthy.

Yep, they for sure do not want someone who might try to think for themselves and screw up the agenda.

No one seems to be understanding the problem. To do so, one has to admit a damnable truth: the most effective Speaker in the 21st century was Nancy Pelosi. She didn’t accomplish this because of any sense of ideals, or a metaphilosophical approach to Constitutional government. She accomplished this through a combination of deep and ubiquitous corruption, merciless use of political force, and self-serving narcissism. (LBJ ran the Senate the same way back in the 1950s.)

To put it another way, if we want MAGA principles to be fulfilled in the House, we don’t need an ideological purist, or a lover of the Constitution. We need a House version of Franco, or Pinochet, or Milei, someone who will pull every behind-the-scenes string to scare House members into line, who pays off everyone who follows and destroys everyone who doesn’t—and we have to let the Speaker and the Speaker’s relatives to get rich off of insider connections, as an incentive to be effective.

Disgusting? Yes. But nice ideological purists finish last in the jungle of national and global politics. Or to paraphrase Macchiavelli, love is nice, but fear works.

Me thinks you presume to much. A. The GOP may not retain the majority, and B. No one wants the job with such a slim majority likely. If I had to guess I’d say Johnson remains as speaker. That’s a guess, not a wish!

I agree.

He is thoughtful and smarter and more articulate than I thought he would be.
