The Pentagon is now conducting an expedited review of the awards of Medals of Honor to soldiers who took part in the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee, during which Seventh Cavalry soldiers killed an estimated 150-300 members of the Sioux Native tribe.
The fact that it is being incredibly rushed and requires the results to be submitted no later than October 15, 2024—three weeks to the day before the election—

For the love of mike, let it go.
In another article:
“It’s never too late to do what’s right,” an unnamed senior defense official said in a statement Wednesday.
In 2022, Congress approved a measure encouraging the Pentagon to review the awards.
This ‘measure’ to review the rewards should have been made to come out in a non political season. In 2022 the rats ran the house.
I always thought this scene from Bury My Heart and Wounded Knee got it about right.

Nice work Groothe. Both sides. Everyone had nice teeth.
Truman integrated the units. BJ dissed the military with his gay policies. Now it’s LGBQT. Our side will always be behind the ball when it comes to grievances. Think of the Port Chicago accident. Clinton got his kudos. There will be others.
Reparations. Japanese Americans in concentration camps got $20k-those that were still alive. Blacks born before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 should be entitled to the same as there are not that many over age 60. Trump as POTUS could do it. Let the blacks holler it ain’t enough. Trump the dealmaker could make sure every DEI related policy is eliminated as part of the deal or no go. The issue of reparations is then put behind us no matter what the hustlers say.
The fact that these guys were given medals for mass murder is appalling. But, that’s the US Government for you.
I need to watch this movie if I can. I’ve always wondered about this book/movie.
The book as I recall went back to Columbus. Right before ‘Roots’ gave us “ the Color Purple” lesson.
The grievance pimps out there need to push the envelope. You’re right it was an injustice. Once everything gets investigated and a few of the 20 medals withdrawn what do we end up with? Nothing’s changed. Is the issue really settled? No, they just go on to the next one. Think Trump and his taxes.
Pushing the envelope is akin to the saying ‘the squeaky nut gets the oil’.
I demand my reparations! Indians, or Native Americans in today’s terms, but they were Indians at the time. Anyway, they attacked my great-great-great grandparents’ home which was set fire to and butchered them. Their two daughters were later found alive under the trundle bed by the neighbors who had seen the smoke.
All humans need to commit suicide immediately—it is the only way to repent for our evil in wiping out Neanderthals.
And—this must be done before the election!
;-)
Read “Fate Worse Than Death” The most extensive collection ever assembled of what it was like to be an Indian captive in the West, by Gregory Michno.
It describes many attacks like that one and how the victims were gang raped and murdered and how the few taken alive were treated.
None of the soldiers and officers that took part in this massacre should be decorated for valor and bravery. This is completely and utterly insane. They attacked and slaughtered hundreds.
Pay them anything and it will never stop. It would become a cottage industry. Paying everyone who has one characteristic, negro heritage before 1964? That is insane, esp. as regards the number of illegals here in that age range say from Camaroon- via Mehico (hmm wonder what H cartel got them here).
You pay them with the stipulation that THEY WILL shut up! That will grow a spine in the self loathing whites who need the backup when it comes to telling them to go to hell. Either a spine or a pair. I have no doubt Trump would do just that.
One could wish but have to say they would want more because its never enough for victims forever with hands out- the gibs me dats,Agree with your sentiment— greatly.
You have to let things go at some point.
Otherwise you turn into the middle east where they hold on to grudges simply forever. And that is not healthy.
