Times have changed. Two years ago, tennis great Novak Djokovic could not play in the U.S. Open tournament. It was not because he had Covid-19 and posed a danger to fellow athletes and fans. Djokovic could not come into the country because of President Biden’s proclamation banning the entry of unvaccinated noncitizen air travelers into America.
Now, U.S. sporting officials let American sprinter Noah Lyles compete at the Olympics with an active case of Covid-19, putting his fellow athletes at risk of contracting the disease and impairing their performance.
Lyles tested positive on Tuesday. But he was allowed to run the 200-meter semi-final on Wednesday and the final Thursday, despite having a fever. It was hard not to notice Lyles talking with and hugging other athletes, exposing them at a time when he was surely contagious. Yet, Lyles said that he never considered withdrawing from the event. Nor did he notify anyone of his condition outside of the USA Track & Field medical staff that allowed him to compete.
Lyles was not alone. The World Health Organization reported that at least 40 Olympic athletes have tested positive for the virus. Yet the International Olympic Committee has removed all requirements for health measures or notifications. And the Paris Olympics officials have likewise taken a hands-off approach, letting athletes and teams determine for themselves how to respond to infection.
Amid this change, however, one finds a Covid constant: public authorities have consistently promulgated health requirements that have been, and remain, contrary to medical and scientific knowledge. Imposing a vaccination requirement on noncitizen air travelers, but not citizens and other types of travelers, made zero sense. Moreover, it has long been clear that the vaccine’s primary utility is to protect the person vaccinated from severe disease—the guard against infection is limited and short-lived; thus, vaccine mandates could not be justified as protecting the public.
Public authorities also seemed intent on denying the existence of natural immunity resulting from earlier infections. In Djokovic’s case, he had already had Covid twice. It was common medical knowledge that natural immunity is generally as good as or better than vaccine immunity, though, in the case of Covid, the public health authorities tried to ignore this for years. By April 2022, even Anthony Fauci acknowledged that natural immunity was just as protective as vaccinations for Covid.
Today, the advice is even worse. Athletes with active infection and illness such as Lyle are allowed to compete and possibly infect other athletes and bystanders. People can transmit Covid for five to ten days after their first symptoms. Even the CDC, which has relaxed some of its earlier recommendations, advises those with infections to stay away from others, not resume normal activities until 24 hours after symptoms, including fever, have subsided, and once returning to normal activities to take care to limit exposing others for five more days.
Lyles first had symptoms and tested positive for Covid on Tuesday, just two days before the race. His coach has revealed that, when he ran, “the dude was sick” with a 102 fever. How many athletes did he infect with Covid, damaging their results in later events? How many coaches and staff who are generally older and more susceptible to severe illness were infected? What were the American, French, and Olympic authorities thinking?
When it comes to Covid, as the French like to say, “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose”—the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Power for the sake of power.
The Olympics is a monumental joke.
I may have an idea where they can push it.
Arguably the worst thing to come out of the Fauci Flu debacle is the nearly complete loss of credibility and respect of America’s medical industry and of medical “experts”. That’s a tragedy.
What’s ‘covid’?
The kovid krap is much like the Olympics, neither entity can tell a boy from a girl.
“Djokovic could not come into the country because of President Biden’s proclamation banning the entry of unvaccinated noncitizen air travelers into America.”
He had a dangerous and highly contagious case of Disobedience.
You couldn't be more wrong. That was pretty much the best thing that came out of the SARS-COV-2/COVID debacle.
The American Medical-Industrial Complex doesn't warrant any "credibility." What credibility it possessed with the American people prior to the pandemic was wholly undeserved. That more people in this country realize that now is a good thing.
We’re a post-truth world. Reality is whatever you want it to be. Facts don’t matter. There is no right or wrong.
The end is one day closer today.
It's not a question IF this is true, but WHEN it became true. COVID-1984 didn't cause the separation of health care from the Medical Industry - COVID-1984 was the public broadcast that the worldwide Medical Industry was no longer involved with public or personal health.
They don't have to hide it anymore, nor do they want to.
I think it was helpful. It revealed that the whole system is owned by Big Pharma and that overall they don’t have your health as a primary goal, just taking money from you. That was already the case, most of us just didn’t realize it pre-Covid.
Spot on, you and I are on the same page. See my previous, which I posted before reading yours.

If they wanted to spread it again, the Olympics is a good start. Of course the IOC can’t be sued.
Perhaps this author should have consulted with some infectious disease experts before writing this piece.
For example, calling disease-induced immunity “natural” is a tool used by anti-vax misinformationists to imply that there is something implicitly unnatural about getting immunity from a vaccine. There isn’t, of course. The natural mechanisms of developing immunity are the same regardless of whether the immunogen is presented on an active pathogen or as a pathogen-free antigen.
Furthermore, it makes no sense to imply that disease-induced immunity is just as good as or superior to vaccine-induced immunity when, clearly, people are catching Covid multiple times. The fact that they can catch it a second, third, fourth (etc.) time clearly demonstrates that disease-induced immunity is not superior to that induced by vaccines. It isn’t even as good as vaccine-induced immunity, since the person actually has to risk their life and health by catching Covid in order to get that immunity. The other implication that professional antivaxxers push is that immunity is somehow an endpoint health goal that one must achieve by any means necessary. That makes no sense. That’s like putting on your seatbelt right after you have had an accident and expecting that it will protect you from serious injury. But what good is putting on a seatbelt when you’re trapped with serious injury in your crushed car? You need the protection BEFORE the event occurs, whether it is a disease or an accident.
Oh, and the fact that people can still catch Covid after vaccination is due to their immune function, not to any shortcomings of the vaccine. If your immune system doesn’t work well, then vaccines cannot induce protective immunity. But, hopefully, the immune system will still work well enough that the vaccine reduces serious disease outcomes. Vaccines cannot alter immune function; they are only as good as the immune system of the person receiving them.
Natural is natural, and deliberately delivering an injection is not. Injecting someone is not "implicitly" unnatural, it's explicitly unnatural. It did not occur naturally - someone had to create the concoction, someone had to deliver it, and someone had to inject it. (Notice I left out that someone had to test it because that was explicitly not done when they explicitly removed the control group, falsely claiming safety).
Playing games with definitions belongs on Democrat Underground.
The Covid shots were not traditional vaccines. They were mRNA shots that were experimental and had not gone through the normal drug trial process.
