That was essentially a defensive war until the Western allies bombed Germany into oblivion.
So what you’re saying is, the soviets were defensive then became offensive, and that’s when the opposing invading forces were defeated? When the soviets went offensive helping the allies, the germans were defeated? Interesting. Seems like there’s a similarity the ukies might have used as a lesson to go on the offensive.
The Russians went on offense whenever they could...starting in the Winter of 41 when the German march on Moscow ran out of steam. They were on the offensive in early 42 until bad tactics and the German drive on the Caucasus began. They went on offense again at the end of 42 and stayed on it until the end of the war.
