Arlington Road is a 1999 drama film directed by Mark Pellington and starring Jeff Bridges, Tim Robbins, Joan Cusack, and Hope Davis. The film tells the story of a widowed George Washington University professor who suspects his new neighbors are involved in terrorism and becomes obsessed with foiling their plot.

Arlington Road kept me on the edge of my seat way back when! Will have to see if it’s streaming anywhere, I would love to see it again knowing the ending and all!
Comedies don’t win Oscars. Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny is the exception that proves the rule.
I didn’t like that picture. The idea was that the domestic terrorist played by Sean Penn was diabolically clever and the FBI well-meaning, but dimwitted. The reality so far is more like the Whitmer kidnapping where the plotters were indigent nitwits and the FBI planned the whole thing. I suppose it’s possible that someday a fiendishly intelligent homegrown terrorist might arise out of the non-Muslim community, but Hollywood should have started off with more realistic plots.
