It could be from the same rock art culture that left this kind of thing throughout the hemisphere over a long period of time.

I saw a BBC film where Steve Backshall and some guys rock-climbed to the top of that thing. It was one harrowing expedition, and it was obvious why caves on it might go undiscovered (and unexplored) for forever and a week.

Dean did the Asia cover but here's some other classics. Really too many of his to choose from.
