The bullet your describing would have had to go through his forehead front to back then most likely due to the extreme pitch of the roof reversed direction and came back from behind to strike him in the back of the leg just below the knee before exiting out the side of his knee moving from the rear to front.
...or someone who till now has not been accounted for simply shot him from behind as the video/still clearly indicates.

Saw photo of his head, face front. His face was intacted. Blood flow out of orifices, ( nose, ears and mouth. Think the kill shot was crown of head moving downward.
