So I Google the following "Kamala Harris ethnicity" and this is what came up.
"Ms Harris is the first black and Asian-American vice-president, with Indian and Jamaican-born parents."
WTH? Can someone tell me WTH this means?
The aborignial people of Jamaica were the Taino/Arawaks, a large ethic group of native peoples originating in South America and spreading across the Caribbean islands, including Jamaica.
Starting in the 15th century with the rise of ocean sailing ships and slave trade, both Europeans and Africans arrived in the Caribbean areas. Many peoples of those islands today are of mixed-race, primarily from those three groups, to a greater or lesser degree; although trade ships certainly brought people from Asia as well.
So it is impossible to simply label her father "black" without a DNA panel. He seems to have self-identified with the Black Panther movement and other California marxists since his youth. However,
Genealogical research carried out by Northern Irish historian Stephen McCracken reveals Ms Harris’s four-times-paternal-great-grandfather Hamilton Brown was born in Co Antrim [Ireland] in 1776, the year of the US Declaration of Independence. The enslavement and importation of Irish people into the sugar plantations of the Caribbean was for the purpose of breeding slaves who had been bred with European levels of intelligence but were stronger and better able to tolerate working in the sun, like the African slaves. It was a very cynical, inhumane business:Brown emigrated to Jamaica, then a British colony, and became an enthusiastic slave owner on the sugar plantations that were the mainstay of the island’s economy. He opposed the abolition of slavery across the British Empire in 1832 and went to Antrim to replace his slaves with workers from his native county....
Ms Harris’s father, an emeritus professor of economics at Stanford University, acknowledged his family’s slave-owning past in a piece for a Jamaican newspaper in 2018. Curiously, relatives on his mother’s side are called Finegan. President Joe Biden’s Irish ancestors are also called Finegan (Finnegan).

Is Bimbo a race or ethnicity?
“Black skin”
I’ve know plenty of white folks with darker tans than her.
Their obsession with skin tone is nauseating.
She may have a small percentage of descent from Jamaican-African slaves. They are "American" in the sense of "South America". Her skin color is what they used to call "café au lait" (coffee with cream) among African Americans, due to her majority caucasian heritage.
In the U.S., we think of "caucasian" as a euphemism for European colonial descendants from the British Isles and northwestern Europe. But the original caucasians are from the Caucasus mountain region of Russia/Turkey, who also spread historically into northern India:
Racial typology in India is historically difficult. Kamala's mother apparently identifies as "Indo-Aryan" or caucasian.

I think the following is what I have read, although it also seems that her percent black is even LESS than 1/8th.
If this is incorrect, I am happy to learn the correct situation.
Kamala Harris is seven-eighths (7/8) Asian Indian and White,
and only one-eighth (1/8) Jamaican Black.
Her Mother: 100% Asian Indian.
Her Father: 75% Caucasian, 25% Black. Family includes Irish Slaveholders in Jamaica. Her grandfather was half white and half black, so he was 50% black. He had Kamala’s father with a white woman, so Kamala’s father was born 75% white and 25% black.
So when Kamala’s father (25% black/75% white) and her mother (100% Asian Indian) had Kamala, half of each is in her make up.
Therefore, Kamala Harris is:
• 50.0% Asian Indian (four-eighths or one-half Asian Indian (4/8 or 1/2));
• 37.5% Caucasian (three-eighths Caucasian); (3/8)
(that adds up to 7/8)
• only 12.5% Black (one-eighth Black) (1/8).

“who had been bred with European levels of intelligence but were stronger”
Thanks for the information. The above passage is thought provoking.
The vast majority of modern Jamaicans are of African descent, and it is, again, politically counterproductive as well as likely outright wrong to quibble about it.
Here are some early family pics:
She’s a very easy target on many grounds, and Vance was masterful in his pivot on the topic.
This is just a terrible line of argument anyway, but here are some family pics, including her father’s mother:
Tiger Woods calls himself "Cablinasian" due to his many ethnic and racial strains.
America has always been a melting pot. Many of us who are descended from the early setters from UK/Europe also have traces of American Indian heritage—more of it than Liz Warren!
American Indians mixed with Africans as well, and Africans with whites from many strongly defined regions of Europe, such as British, French, Dutch and Spanish based on those groups' early settlements in various parts of the American territory. On the west coast, incoming migrants from the Far East added color and spice!
Bears repeating!
Surely most thinking people have moved beyond that, certainly as far as the workplace; and many families practive acceptance base on commonly-held values, such as religion. You can't control whom your grown children decide to get with.
Even today, if you have one drop of black ancestry, you're considered black.

“This is just a terrible line of argument anyway”
True, but Harris’s pitch is I am woman, I am black, I am Indian, and it will work with a lot of voters, so you have to respond.
Seeing how Obama was groomed from childhood, it now makes sense that she chose to hone her credentials by going to Howard. It's also in DC.
On the other hand, maybe she didn't qualify for the other major universities in DC: Georgetown U, George Washington U, or American U (in order by academic rigor; in increasing order of leftiness).
Not like that.
“ Google is accurate. Kamala Harris is black. But she’s not African-American. She’s not descended from American slaves.
But her skin color is “black”. And she has some African blood on her father’s side.”
I work in IT and as such, have interacted with hundreds of Indians over the years. I’ve never asked them specifically, but none of them viewed themselves as black. They were brown. India is in Asia but they also don’t refer to themselves as Asian.
Trump, per usual, is right. Pointing out that she’s Indian is brilliant because she was trying to leverage her skin tone to make inroads with the black population. They feel differently about Indians than African heritage blacks. That she panders to each group and we can all see it is icing on the cake.
He is a comedy genius, no doubt. That was hilarious!
I agree except if she tells one audience she’s Indian and another audience she’s black, that deserves to be called out. But yes, it’s a minor matter compared to the issues.
Totally.
To rational, non-woke people, i.e. conservatives and even some classical liberals. It's the rest of the voters and fake ballots we have to worry about.
