AI technology is coming to Taco Bell, hopefully freeing up employees to lessen your wait time and provide better service.

“I didn’t insult you so why do you insult me ?”
ROTFLMAO!
Oh well. Now you lie. Goodbye
It would take several years to retrain all of the employees to speak English. There are a number of ff places near here that only hire those that speak in Mexican or Ebonics.
Its worse than the famous “Fast Food” sketch because you can hear them quite clearly, they just arent using any real words and there is no observable structure in their sentences.
The Wendys AI caught me off guard. When the second voice came on I made a comment about training and tried to pass it off as a joke about needing multiple people to take orders. The real person behind the speaker commented that they get responses like mine all the time because no one knows that the first voice is AI.
(How “AI” this exchange actually was compared to just some recording that triggers I dont actually know, just reporting.”)
“The order taker does not make the food.”
Yes, they do. They don’t just work the registers.
> I know you’re a capable guy so I think you maybe just got a little frustrated. <
Okay, I’ll admit it. I approach these kiosks already heavily biased against them.
There are people in our society who, for whatever reason, can do no better than working at a no-skills job. This is not meant to disparage them. All work is honorable.
Kiosks and self-serve checkouts take jobs away from those people. So I will avoid using those things when I can. And yes, I totally get that idiotic Democrat policies are forcing companies to move in that direction.
Pretty much. I haven’t been to a TB in a couple years now, I never planned to go back to one, and this just seals the deal.
“Do not do drive throughs or drive-bys. I order on the inside.
No person, no order.”
Then your concern is with the speaker box, not AI.
” No person, no order.”
If a person is taking your order via speaker box what is the problem?
Had a local fast food chain store try and force me to place may own order a while back. I started to, but it was horrendous. The software was unbelievably bad. The menus were in illogical order. You could could not select more than one without find it in the menu a 2nd or 3rd time. The line was piling up behind me. Then I just said that’s it. I will never order in here again and walked out. I never finished placing the order.
SubWay is pushing those apps too. All you can get from the apps are cookie cutter subs. No place to enter special preparation instructions. The thing people normally can say while they watch there sub being made. Like how much of this or that. Or how to apply the condiments. Imagine standing in line and having to wait for them to make a sub order from an app when those people are not even on the premises. They can stick there app where the sun don’t shine.
It’s not a scam. It’s labor savings. They already have all the computing power necessary built into the ordering system, all this is doing is saying “why are we paying somebody to talk through the system that’s already there and push buttons when the system can talk and push it’s own buttons?”
It’s the new ATM.
Theyre everywhere here now. Nothing like dragging your fingers around on a fecal bacteria encrusted surface before eating with your hands.
Yes, I know how to wash my hands but I still wont use the touchscreens until they put sinks and soap between the touchscreen and the counter.
“Oh well. Now you lie. Goodbye”
I notice that you don’t quote me when you post. Is that because you know you are misrepresenting me?
Where are the illegals going to find jobs they can take away from citizens?

I bet you never opened the SubWay app! It gives you all the options. When you select an item it gives you options LESS/REGULAR/MORE.
AI Taco Bell - Welcome to Taco Bell...how can I help you?
Customer: Two tacos with hot sauce.
AI: I have no information about the asassination attempt on Donald Trump. It seems not to have happened. Would you like a drink with your order?

That is not an AI system. With AI you just tell it what you want in no particular order.
Don’t quit your night job ...
Taco Bell has several touchscreen locations in my area. I love them. I figure it's one less person to screw up my order.
I’m retired so I can do this all day...
I use the back of my knuckles if possible. The surfaces are designed to minimize microbiota but yes, it could happen.
