Angry Olympics viewers have been called out as sexists after taking to social media to fume over beach volleyball players ditching bikini bottoms for leggings in Paris.
Previously, women's beach volleyball players were forced to wear the bikini bottoms with the International Olympic Committee even mandating how skimpy they were, with official rules stating they could not be more than 7cm on the sides.
Those rules were torn up for the Paris Olympics, with athletes now allowed to compete in more modest leggings - creating a social media firestorm.
Plenty of viewers have been labelled 'sexist' and 'creeps' for complaining about the absence of bikini bottoms purely because they wanted to gawk at the athletes.
'So I've had to watch blokes dressed as women at the opening ceremony and now women wearing leggings in the beach volleyball. Worst Olympics ever,' one posted.
'Add it to the list of reasons as to why I'm not watching the Olympics,' fumed another.
'Leggings in beach volleyball is a god d*** crime,' raged yet another.
There were also plenty of offensive and misogynistic comments that the Mail has elected not to publish.

The only people complaining are people who:
1. Even with Texas BBQ ribs hanging from their neck no one is going to get near then.
2. They have given up on sex and desperately need to be seen as moral accountants.
Either way theres not much left to the imagination. Its exhibitionism no matter how you slice it. Most people won’t watch if they aren’t almost naked. I don’t watch because most of the gals look like skinny teenage boys and I’m just not into that.

They had to do this for the trans athletes.
Is it sport or some sex show?
If sport, then they should be able to wear whatever they desire! Burkini included.
I’ve followed women’s beach volleyball for quite a while. From what I’ve witnessed, it was always the Brazilian women’s teams who kept pushing the envelope on skimpiness with the other teams trying to keep up.
What the hell happened to the French in such a short time? Sometime after WW2 instead of leaning more towards the right, they went the other way, socialist. Weren’t the Nazis socialists? Nazi = National Socialism. Take away the castles and the country is unrecognizable. Just the way the democrats want it here.
WW2 was fought to make the world safe for communism. Competing authoritarian constructs crushed.

First of all nobody forces the players to wear leggings.It`s a choice, whereas up to now they HAD to wear bikinis. Why they put up with this beats me. And afaik beach volleyball is an open air event in Paris.
As long as they keep the shirts skins rule I am ok with this
I know nothing about volleyball, but being practical, I don’t see how playing the game — any sport, really — can be comfortable wearing bikini bottoms. Leggings seem more practical — assuming that the game is the priority. If T&A is the priority, then bikini for sure.

We sat next to a big section of Brazilians at beach volleyball at the ‘96 Games. They were a riot, just a lot of fun.
