What an unfriendly enviromental opening ceremony, the athletes were on gas powered boats and didn't walk, freaking hypocrites.

They were saying the Seine was high in E-coli, so it’s going to affect some events. We all know what that means, all the invader 3rd world immigrants are crapping in the river, that’s what it means.

The photos weren't as spectacular as I thought they would be. I see bad weather and a lot of raincoats. The French put on a lame show.

I happened to catch some of the opening ceremony, and I remember seeing a man doing some sort of Parkour on the rooftops of Paris, and ended up standing on top of the Notre Dame Cathedral holding the Olympic torch. He was dressed in middle eastern garb, with a full mask headdress, holding a flame, on top of the Cathedral. I mean, how fitting, an Islamic-esque figure with his instrument of destruction on Notre Dame.

What i saw live this afternoon was a constipated, over the top, anticlimactic, bore

A sloped roof? Wow, the skill of some people just amazes me. ;-)

Meh. It’s not Napoleon’s Paris anymore.

Le Bron James leading the Americans carrying an American flag, Steve Kerr and basketball player Curry get to Paris and endorse Kamala. I’ll pass on the Olympics and stick to baseball.

We watched about 10 minutes. It’s too much for us. Poor lip-syncing, lame theatrics, the metal ”music” was just awful, and I can dig metal when it’s time.
This is a horrendous start.

Does anyone else recall the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics that promoted government takeover of healthcare to propagandize to Americans?
Once upon a time, as a youth, I was a huge fan of the Olympics.
I went to the Munich Olympics, 1972.
No longer a fan.
There have been a litany of events over the years sanctioned by the Olympic Committee that has ruined my Interest in the Olympics.
Big Sports Sucks.
