the advantage comes when passing cars on a 2-way road- i was zipping right along with my 4 cylinder junk car- and saw a vetter come up to my car- they waited till the broken center line, and then stepped on the throttle- hot diggity dog that thing flew past me like i was standin still- he kept within speed limit after passing- but the power/speed definitely helps it get past other cars in a hurry- i woudl also imagie it comes in very handy when merging from on ramp onto highways-

The C8 Corvettes are incredible. The mid engine design makes a very well balanced car. For less than half the price of a Ferrari. Even used they are still hanging are $100K.

My son in law and daughter bought a 2016 C7 Corvette last December. This was the previous version with the engine still in the front. They bought it from the original owner with 27K miles. I (think) they paid around $40-45K. It ONLY has a mere 600 HP. The funny thing is they live on a dirt/gravel road. So, they have to turn right out of their driveway and go about a 1/4 mile before it turns to pavement. If they go in the other direction it will bottom out.

Looks like they threw everything including the kitchen on it. It is downright ugly.

The supercar market is clouded by the falling value of fiat currencies.

While projections for sales climb through 2034, it's not clear if that sales number is based on an increased number of vehicles projected to sell or a higher cost per vehicle due to inflation.

It sure raised hell for a year or so. One serious Japanese problem was that the war for them was come as you are. They built very few ships and were never able to really replace the Zero and other early war planes. Once a Japanese capitol ship was sunk there would never be a replacement.

**I’m not sure who really needs a production race car with speed limits**

70-75 mph speed limits
Red light-stop
Green light-go

I can do all the above with any of my 4 vehicles, none of which exceed 250 hp.

The trunk(in the front) is about 25” long. About 12” deep and wide.

I went with my son in law last Sunday with the Southern NH Corvette Club on a drive down to Gillette/Patriots Hall of Fame. There were several of the C8 version(mid/rear engine) Corvettes. There are two different body styles you can choose from. A hard top convertible or a removable one piece hard top. Both tops store behind the seats above the engine.

The Convertible looks a lot like the Bat Mobile from the back. They really are beautiful cars. Plus the insides have multiple combinations of light and dark leathers/carpets/stitching.

One of the reasons they bought it was because it was the only one you could find in a standard transmission.
They went to paddle shifts after 2019.

I have ridden in his C7 twice now. The hardest thing is GETTING OUT of the passenger seat.

My sister in law had one many years ago. Nowhere near these kinds of numbers. It was fun driving on the highway. Like, “bat out of hell” fun. But for cruising back roads (not dirt, but winding New England state highways) I would take my brother’s Spitfire every day of the week.

Me…my pick up goes fast enough. I don’t get tickets.

Will it be fast? YEP! Will it be insanely capable on the track? YEP! Will it be HEAVY? Also, unfortunately, YEP!

Actually, yes. That’s a good point. I’d rather spend the money on a decent used aircraft.

I’ve always been partial to the Bellanca Viking. Or a Cozy Mark IV. Zoom Zoom!

Nobody needs a car with a 1000 hp engine and can go 200 mph. That is an assault car and can kill hundreds of people. We need to ban these things. If we can save just one life, it is worth it.
