There seem to be many options these days, from DaVinci, to Adobe to flimora, lumiar, cap cut etc.

I used Pinnacle for many years so I have a basic understanding.

There is definitely a learning curve, but editing video can really make a big difference in quality and presentation.

Any thoughts? In my case I'm using goPro now.

Has adobe changed their business model and stopped charging regular amateur consumers of the street many hundreds of dollars to use their software products?
If they are like microsoft they probably want you to sign up for a continuing subscription service so they can keep milking the cow.

If you just want to part time edit some video to upload to rumble or youtube or something, please don’t give people like Adobe your money.

I’m sorry I don’t have an actual suggestion for you because I don’t create videos and haven’t done so in a very long time, but I’m sure there must be some free or economical products out there that do a nice job. I think the one I used way back in the day was made by Ulead video studio and back in the day it wasn’t free but not fairly economical.

DaVinci...

The free version very complete. It does have a learning curve but there are tons of youtube video’s showing you how to do anything so it’s not really that hard to use at all. I would go as far as saying it would be foolish to use anything else considering how powerful the free version is.

As a former 26 year Broadcast TV Producer, I still vote Final Cut Pro. It’s not loaded with goofy effects and transitions that you’ll never use. Plus, the price is now amazing. Most of it is intuitive and it can output to any format, from national networks to Instagram. Anything you see on television, FCP can do (except for cgi, of course).

I’m just a hack, but I’ve created and authored 4 DVD titles that were sold commercially, using various versions of then-Sony/now-Magix Vegas Pro and its DVD/Blu-ray production package, DVD Architect.

Are you all makers of films?

Why would anyone need a video editing software?

I feel out of the loop here.

Freeware called ShotCut. Not too intuitive IMO, but the few things I do I’ve learned how to do.

I *love* Final Cut Pro, and the price is fair.

That said, I use iMovie on my MacBook Pro, since it’s free.

I use Blender.
It’s free!
It’s multi platform. (Linux,win, mac)
I also use it to create 3D models etc.

Lots of online help available.

Fans love it, others not so much.
It is all quite involved to learn though.

Whatever you use, if you share content, thank you! :-)
