A side note re: perplexity.
It’s an Amazon/Bezos along with Meta that crafts answers to the official, Washington Post (which is the CIA company newsletter) agenda.
It may be right here, but it’s collecting all sorts of data about you and will craft answers to you.
At its least offensive, use will get you targeted ads based on what you search.
I have an adblocker — ublock-origin for my windows computers.
I don’t use my phone much for internet. I could not even find an android adblocker for Chrome.
So I use android Brave browser with its built in adblocker.
Perplexity is an independent AI as far as I can tell/

Cool Tweet by SW Airlines!
Its major investor is Jeff Bezos. Meta’s chief spook Yarat supplied the AI.
“As of 2024, Perplexity has raised $165 million in funding, valuing the company at over $1 billion.[1] Investors include Jeff Bezos, Nvidia, Databricks, Bessemer Venture Partners, Susan Wojcicki, Jeff Dean, Yann LeCun, Andrej Karpathy, Nat Friedman, and Garry Tan.[4][6][1]”
“Perplexity was founded in 2022 by Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho and Andy Konwinski, engineers with backgrounds in back-end systems, AI and machine learning. Yarats, the CTO, was an AI research scientist at Meta, while Srinivas, the CEO, worked at OpenAI as an AI researcher”
Brave is an excellent choice
So there is a way to get around Bitlocker encryption!
Windows 11 24H2 will force Bitlocker on all users. You can stop this but most do not know the step or even know their files are encrypted.
Many people will lose all their files because they cannot remember the Bitlocker log in. Microsoft will not help even though obviously they can get around the encryption.
FTA: If a disk is protected by BitLocker encryption, the tool will prompt for the BitLocker recovery key and then continue to fix the CrowdStrike update.
The recovery tool has also been updated to include a new PXE boot option, and even a boot to Safe Mode option that allows IT admins to access BitLocker-enabled devices without a recovery key.
good reminder....thanks
Yep, MS is a disappointing outfit. I tried to discontinue a paid subscription that had my OUTLOOK email address. The budding geniuses in Seattle flagged the password reset email as being from an unfamiliar source.
Yikes, I was in a Catch-22 doom loop. I could not get into my account to terminate the automatic billing.
Your card issuer can stop the billing...........
