Keith Richards? Still with us.

Ozzy? Still with us.

Everyone forgot about Grace Slick. Still with us at 84 years old.

Grace Slick will turn 85 in October and it's my bet that she's gonna outlive everyone.

Grace Slick still alive, may outlive us all.

Drugs, The Final Frontier of Jefferson Starship.

Or, as Hunter Thompson, The Coneheads, and Hunter Biden would recommend......Mass Quantities.

Woostock is the only decent Live Jefferson Airplane performance I've ever heard.

They had a really good set, they meshed well and sound was great - lots from their Volunteers album (I think their best, anyway).

Every other live Airplane I've heard sounded like they all got "the Green" acid...

Slick’s White Rabbit is a two-and-a-half minute rock masterpiece. Her vocals on it are magnificent.

I saw Jorma Kaukonen live once.

(If think I also saw Hot Tuna live once - so that would make twice I saw him.

Was over ten years ago.
He is still going at 83!

I agree. I stumbled upon a version of White Rabbit sung by Elephant Revival on YouTube. I like the instruments of Elephant Revival's better, but Grace Slick's vocals are better than Bonnie Paine, at least on that song.

Too true ... maybe if her microphone had been cranked up a little bit more it would have sounded better. Compared to Grace Slick, the singer’s voice was a little weak and reedy-sounding for the song.

“Volunteers” was an anti-Vietnam War song when it came out in 1970, but in 2024, it sounds like a MAGA anthem.

[Verse 1]
Look what’s happening out in the streets
Got a revolution, got to revolution
Hey, I’m dancing down the street
Got a revolution, got to revolution
Ain’t it amazing all the people I meet
Got a revolution, got to revolution

One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no dissertation to hold
Pick up the cry

[Verse 2]
Hey now it’s time for you and me
Got a revolution, got to revolution
Come on now, we’re marching to the sea
Got a revolution, got to revolution
Who will take it from you, we will and who are we?

[Chorus]
We are volunteers of America
Volunteers of America
Volunteers of America
Volunteers of America
Volunteers of America
See upcoming rock shows
Get tickets for your favorite artists

Thank you for mentioning ‘White Rabbit’. I’m not a Jefferson Airplane fan, but Slick knocked it out of the park and into the street with that song.

There is video on YouTube with Grace Slick’s isolated vocal track from White Rabbit. It is pitch perfect long before auto tune.

I was in my third of college at the time, and in the thick of it when that album came out. It’s a rousing, energetic call for revolution, yet , ironically, it marks the point when all that creative energy and spirt of change from ‘66-‘68, dissolved and became co-opted into commercialism, conceit, and a mere fashion statement.

I saw Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane several times in the ‘60s. I recall once when they were at a theater-in-the-round at Shady Grove, Maryland, Grace Slick walked to the edge of the stage, higher than a kite, stared out across the crowd, and said “My God, I’m on a ship”.

Yeah, I saw her with the Starship in the 70s and she was loaded. She didn’t sound very good that time.

Marty Balin was a great singer in his own right, and an excellent songwriter penning some of their 70s "easy listening" hits such as "Miracles" as the band morphed into Jefferson Starship.
