A switch threat always worked on me.
Let the kids be the boss of the home.
What could go wrong.
I think a firm hand (with love) when they are VERY young, prevents any need to when they are older. IF and it’s a big if you are not a hypocrite and constantly tell your kids not to do something you are currently doing.
(like while smoking a cigarette, tell them constantly never do this trash)
You have to live what you preach for kids, because they see it all and take it in, not just what you say.
Psychological warfare works better.
Make a threat and keep it. It’s when you give in that kids rule you.
Spare the rod and you’ll spoil the child.
“’I Think Kids Who Are Spanked Will Be Better-Behaved’: Strict Aunt Ya Hui Shares Views on Corporal Punishment”
That’s OBVIOUS, but it should be noted that drugging your kids also works.
Yahooey? Ouch.
Spanking- yes; beating- no
I was paddled in school in the 8th grade for lying.
As I recall, spankings were for the five and under crowd. Usually to make a point I got the crap kicked out of me up to the early teens but I don’t recall feeling I got hit more than anybody else I knew. And to be honest when I think back on things I did I feel I can legitimately be called one hell of a little bastard
As for my kid, I never hit him once. No need to., my voice has always been enough. If I speak forcefully the way my father used to the poor kid looks like he’s gonna faint.
One dark night 'bout half past three I saw an owl up in a tree He looked down out and yowled at me "Who's Yehoodi?"
G-man Hoover's getting moody Got his men on double duty Trying to find out who's Yehoodi (who's Yehoodi?)
Who's Yehoodi, who's Yehoodi? The little man who wasn't there Said he heard him on the air No one seems to know from where But who's Yehoodi?
Who's Yehoodi, who's Yehoodi? Someone please lend us a hand Solve this mystery if you can If he's mice or if he's man Who's Yehoodi?
Who's Yehoodi, who's Yehoodi? One dark night 'bout half past three Saw an owl up in a tree And he looked down out and yowled at me "Who's Yehoodi?"
My parents beat their kids. We do not miss them.
Some spanking is necessary. My grandmother and father went way overboard. When I was 13 and was becoming an an athlete I swore the next time my father beat me I wouldn’t make a peep. When it happened, with monster welts on my legs, I looked him in the eye and asked “Is that all you got?” He never touched me again. Crazy enough, we got along great after that. I think he was truly sorry.
Is Ya Hui related to Huac Tua?
Our oldest was so well behaved that he rarely needed any punishment.
The youngest, however, was very adventurous and stronger-willed than I was.
I never spanked him, because I was half afraid that if I did, I might not be able to stop.
I have been reading about Corporal Punishment for decades.
When will he finally be promoted to Sergeant?
I remember seeing ads from the 50’s where husbands spanked their wives. I wonder if the wives behaved better.
Regarding a child, the Bible is very clear, and Dr. Benjamin Spock's theory schown to be futile for instaling disciple into a child's life.
Proverbs 10:13 (AV):It is because of ignoring ages-old well-defined and proven wisdom that we have successive generations of fools applying Spock's doctrine of eliminating corporal chastening of children, denominations preaching this non-Biblical doctrines from the pulpit, undisciplined college professors teaching it from lecterns to rebellious-minded students, and thus a progressive incorrigible "wokeness" controlling our culture and its supportive media.
In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Proverbs 23:13,14 (AV)
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 29:15 (AV):
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

When I was a kid attending St. Bernard’s Catholic School, the Nuns would proverbially “preach Heaven to you and beat the hell out of you”. A long time ago.
