Michelob Ultra is like drinking unflavored seltzer water with a dash of alcohol in it.

Whatever happened to Hamms, or Rainier or Olympia? Lums restaurant chain used to cook their hotdogs in Ballentine, my uncle’s drank Schlitz , and my dad drank Fallstaff or Old Milwaukee, my Piney cousins all drank Stroths.

Because of my “heritage” around these various budget brews growing up... I came to the conclusion that beer is way overrated, especially bottled beer. Kegs or cans, no skunking. Blindfold tests tend to agree.

Singha was atrocious and Sam Magoo was ferocious.

A strong homemade Korean “ongee” beer is a beautiful thing, but it’s an acquired taste. Saki is also palatable.

From BRAVE AI:

Defunct beer brands

Based on the provided search results, here is a list of notable defunct beer brands:

Falstaff (1838-1996): An American beer brand that was once the third-largest in the US, popular at ballparks and backyard barbecues.

Rheingold (1883-1976): A German-American brand that was the official beer of the New York Mets and featured a Miss Rheingold contest.

Ballantine (1840-1991): A brand synonymous with the New York Yankees, its “three-ring” logo was a iconic symbol of the team.

Stroh’s (1850-1999): A Midwestern beer giant that was acquired by Pabst Brewing Company and still produces Colt 45 and Mickey’s Malt Liquor.

Schlitz (1849-1982): A Milwaukee-based brand that was once the largest in the US and the world, known for its “Grapefruit Juice is Brewed for You” slogan.

Narragansett (1888-1992): A Rhode Island-based brewery that was once the largest in New England, its beer is still brewed and available in some areas.

Oldenberg Brewery (1838-1970s): A Kentucky-based brewery that was known for its Light and Ice versions, discontinued in 2021.

Lone Star (1895-1997): A Texas-based brewery that was forced to discontinue operations during Prohibition and did not resume production until after its repeal.

Primo (1897-1990s): A Hawaiian brewery that halted production during Prohibition and resumed brewing in 2007 under Pabst Brewing Company.

Heileman’s Old Style (1902-1996): A Wisconsin-based brewery that was acquired by Pabst Brewing Company and still produces beer under the Old Style brand.

These are just a few examples of the many defunct beer brands that once thrived in the United States.

I think you are reading too much into my comments. Besides, I don’t drink. I’m perfectly happy with Bud Light losing.

...AB Inbev is and will be just fine, and they have been. They could drop the BL line altogether and it wouldn't hurt them in the slightest... Somehow we scored some big victory though? Lmao.

Lost revenue is lost revenue and they're not making that back. Depending on the analysis, Transheuser Busch / InBev has furthered a permanent drop in sales of Bud Light at least 20% in addition to their already significant decline which led them to Go Woke in the first place. Bud Light sales peaked at 42.4 million barrels in 2008 and had already dropped to 25.7 million barrels by 2020.

In addition to the smack that Transheuser Busch / InBev got and continues to get, the message is also clear to other korporations - Don't use promote troons and deviance to the public as a means to support your declining company.

Stopped purchasing AB products when they sold out to foreigners. Miller High Life in clear glass bottles served ice cold is the choice now. I was a life(adult)-long drinker of Budweiser and Michelob. Anyway, they own many other brews now so this is just a ‘blip’ to corporate.

“Incorrect, IN THE US.”

What’s incorrect? Especial is not made in the US?

AB InBev owns a 50% non-controlling stake in Modelo.

Modelo Especial is a better beer than Bud Lite. Modelo Negra is very superior beer, actually an Ale.

“Ballantine (1840-1991): A brand synonymous with the New York Yankees, its “three-ring” logo was a iconic symbol of the team.”

Mel Allen on the radio called a Yankee home run a Ballantine Blast or a White Owl Wallop.

Bud Lite was the number one
seller I maintain not because of its taste or quality, but due to slick advertising and cheap price. Ever since the end of Prohibition, Americans have been mostly content to drink a watery beer concoction that could be quickly and cheaply brewed. Budweiser notoriously boasted of using rice in its brew, basically a cheap filler. In the 1980s so called Lite beers became a thing for consumers wanting a lower calorie less filling brew. Mich Ultra is the ultimate lite beer with low calories, low carbs, low alcohol and low taste.

I am surprised that Modelo, a traditional brewed lager, has so quickly dominated the US market. Perhaps American consumers have discovered the taste of real beer.

Both companies are owned by the same group outside of the US.

But inside the US Modelo is owned by Constellation not InBev.

So your statement is incorrect.
