How can you tell ahead of swimming that there are alligators lurking? Is there a method?

How can you tell ahead of swimming that there are alligators lurking? Is there a method? A good rule-of-thumb is:
Florida + Puddle = Alligator

” how can you tell ahead of swimming that there are gators lurking?”
You walk to the edge of the water and stoop down and put your hand in. If it comes out wet there’s gators. 😏

How long can alligators breathe underwater? Alligators can stay underwater for much longer than humans. A typical dive might last 10-20 minutes. In a pinch an alligator can stay submerged for up to two hours if it is at rest. And, in very cold water, an alligator can last up to eight hours submerged. GoogleIn the old days gators were afraid of people. Then people from up North starting feeding them to get a great tourist picture and gators lost their fear. That said, if you're swimming in a lake stay away from tall grasses - and watch out if you're near a lake during mating season 'cause gators will get out of the water a walk around looking for a mate.

Just swim in Florida. And to add to it, if you swim in salt water or fresh water attached to salt water in Florida you are probably being watched by a shark. (Normally a bull)
