That’s interesting; I wasn’t aware of that. I will try it the next time I can’t bring the word up. (If I can remember to do so!)
You can probably do it without the ‘knock’. The knock just seems to reinforce the suggestion you give to yourself. Someone else here said that the word just floats up later; but I’m so used to the ‘knock’ that I keep doing it :-)
