No, but that is not the point. Whoever the Republicans in chaos chose…and the elder elites would have had a shot to retake the party in the chaos…but whoever it was would not have had Trump’s resolve or experience and knowledge to effectively take out the Deep State permanent government.
Their position would be improved and they likely could hamper anyone else that won on the Republican side.
There’s no way that any replacement for Trump would be as dynamic as him, or get as many votes, and that’s especially true if you had several viable contenders during it out for the nomination - the Republicans would be split, and it would be far easier for the Dem cheat machine to pull the corrupt, lying, ancient corpse over the finish line.
Rummy: I think you are missing the point. The PRIMARY focus is to make certain that Trump NEVER sits in the Oval Office again. Once that is attained, let the chips fall where they may. The GOP would come back into the Deep State fold and business as usual would return. At that point, the Deep State does not care if it is a Bush, a Clinton, an Obama or a Biden on the White House.
Crisis averted and NO other America Loving billionaire entrepreneur would dare butt into their game. Trump getting his brains splattered across a field in Butler, PA would have made sure of that.
It is my firm opinion that this was entirely an inside job and Crooks was recruited and set up to take the shot and to be taken out himself (whether he knew that or that is anyone’s guess) by the Deep State.
