Sometimes I think singers do it bad intentionally, just to get publicity.
Whitney Houston(RIP), did the best version.

These pop stars can’t sing. Producers use auto tune etc…
Marketed for looks and playing the part.
It’s all Milli Vanilli.

That is the worst I have heard...
As far as non-traditional, I love to hear Madison Rising do the national Anthem....

Let's just say that she was actually trying here best. How in the hell did she win multiple grammys? sidenote - Yes, I know today's music sucks. Was her multiple grammy awards totally fabricated in the studio ala Milli Vanilli?
Maybe...YAS!..YAS!...

I don’t think it was disrespectful, it’s just that she can’t sing the song.
. The worse travesty is the idea to put on a home run derby.
I’ve disliked that idea since the 1950s.

“”Even the players were embarrassed””
Definitely some looked uncomfortable. That poor thing even started out in the wrong key. She should have stopped right there and began again - she didn’t have anyone accompanying her so it wouldn’t have been a problem. Embarrassing? Not as much as continuing did. Maybe she wasn’t embarrassed but it was certainly painful to listen to....
HOW indeed did she get so many nominations for Grammys??

Lordy, that was awful.
On par with a local high school talent show.

Singing in a studio with unlimited takes is a lot different that singing acapella in front of a huge crowd in a stadium............

It is a difficult song for even talented singers to deliver well.
If you can’t secure someone capable, I’d recommend a good recording.

Although she missed half the notes, she was respectful and had no damned amplified electric guitars playing hard metal music.

I think she just sucks as a singer. Nothing more, nothing less.
No way she did that on purpose because now she’s a joke.

Yep - the SSB can be very deceiving. The third note is an outlier and very, very low in the range.
You have to work backwards from that note before you begin, or you'll wind up running out of room on top (unless you're Julie Andrews or somebody else with a five-octave range).
