If you can’t secure someone capable, I’d recommend a good recording.
It is not a “soul” song. It is not a “rap” song. It is not a “country” song. It is not a “torch” song. It is not a “pop” song. It is not a “folk” song. It is not a “kiddy” song. It is not a “hymn” nor is it a “sea chanty”. It should be sung as written, and unlike American Idol, do not “Make it your own”. Performers that butcher the national anthem should be required to listen to 15 or 20 different singers of “Oh Canada”, and notice that they don’t deviate from the music.
