Three things here of note:
One: Chris Martenson brake down on the sounds of the shooting.

I'm not buying the water tower argument that a shooter was on the water tower. As it implies the shooter missed his target by at least 30 yards on a target that is 250 yards out. No one can be that bad of a shot.

For Brandon's decision to leave the race, it seems he is stuck in a Grief Doom Loop of repeating 1-2-3.

5. Acceptance

He denies the bad polls, he yells almost all the time (i.e. NAACP rally), and he dabbles with bargaining as to what happens with his $200M in campaign cash. He then affirms he's staying in and re-enters to Doom Loop.

We occasionally see him depressed (and confused) but how soon will we see Acceptance with a clear exit plan: Who gets the money, does he anoint Carmella, how do the Democrats bypass Carmella without a race/gender war within the party?
