Did the pastor of your church speak about the assassination attempt?

I was shocked that my pastor said nothing. It is a fairly conservative church in a very liberal, wealthy town full of influential people - many of them having some power to shape public discourse - not that those are necessarily church-goers.
But I expected prayers for peace, for the safety of leaders and candidates, for us as a nation to handle disagreements with reason, fairness, gentleness.
TOPICS: Chit/Chat

Another note. Jesus condemned them as you say, he didn’t remain silent. He pointed out their hypocrisy as well as other aspects to those around.True, but he didn't advocate his flock do the same. Jesus is the judge, not us.
We're just supposed to love God and love each other.

And he would be wrong.
Either your politics is part of your Christian life or your Christian Life isn’t much.
In other words, your Christianity includes all of your life, including your politics, or you don’t have Christian Life!

Nope. And that was fine with us. We came this morning for the usual reason: Life on this earth is temporary…don’t get caught up in it. Jesus Christ will come back 😀

my local rag had it on the front page but it was not ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT it was some mumble jumble incident type headline and it wasn’t even truly a big headline...it was above the main article that was a fluff piece.

Our pastor prayed about it today. He called it evil.

SBC church - my pastor talked about it as a lead-in to a sermon on why God allows evil in the world.

Our pastor has been talking about this for months. We have been praying for protection from assassins all year.
