...CO₂ from the atmosphere a year to be fossilised, locking it safely and permanently underground.

Do they mean like plastic, which they forced on us, because paper bags were destroying all the trees...)?

What is the clean energy it uses?

Virtue signaling with taxpayers money at its best, but someone who built this thing made out like a charm, probably kinfolks of some of the politicians

It probably runs off geothermal energy, but is still a complete waste of time and resources.

Crazy make-work scam from the “Progressives”. Big corporations pay and pass these costs to consumers. Another inflation creation

Let us not be too hasty in condemning this action. After all, someone will feel good and think they are doing something to save our planet. And that is the most important thing…feeling good. 🙄🙄🙄

1 one millionth of the co2 “cleaned” from this one plant? So that means the planet will need 1 million more plants to completely “clean” the atmosphere of the nasty icky awful co2 (which plants need to live)

So, 1 plant will cost 36 million to operate a year, and 36,000,000 x 1 million = 36,000,000,000,000. Gosh what a bargain!

Yes I know they don’t want to clean put all co2, so they wouldn’t create 1 million plants, but they do want to remove a goodly portion of the co2 and likely would create 1000’s of plants if they could

It runs on the heat generated by volcanic eruptions that produce more CO2 in a week than be safely stored under ground

The truth is they inventor is trying to sell CO2 elimination technology that has already been rejected

So the 1/1,000,000,000 claim is reduced by what is captured from the clean energy source itself. Who is responsible for putting the asylum’s inmates in charge of the asylum? 😋

If there’s 0.041% percentage of carbon dioxide in atmosphere this thing will lower it by 0.000000000000000000000000001% ?

In reality, it would just release a portion of the co2, which will not. Be a problem, as the earth has had over 1000 parts per million co2 in the past and life survived just fine. The left scream about our current 430 ppm co2 level, as though we will all erupt into flames and life will die out- nothing could be further from the truth.

The fact is, weather drives co2 levels in atmosphere, co2 does not warm the globe. Ice core samples prove this point. The left screaming about “the tipping point” and “only 7 years left” are hysterical nutcase that belong in therapy, not out loose in public

It’s like their city recycling programs were they make us wash garbage with millions of gallons of water that we pay for so they can call the garbage recycling that they send someplace to be buried or burned

“What happens to all the plants?”

Nothing the oceans are at equilibrium with the air and hold 150 times as much CO2 by mass for every cubic meter of each. We are at 440 ish ppm it varies by the season up from 180 ppm even if humans could strip all 37 billion per year out the oceans will outgas an equal amount until a new equilibrium is established it will take 200+ years of removals to even out a dent in total ppm down to 200-180 levels even then that’s where we started at C3/4 plants will be fine they evolved during a period of 150ppm. C4 plants are what we eat rice, corn, wheat, barley all C4 and all evolved during much lower CO2 than now. Sleep well and bask in the gentle warmth of the CO2 greenhouse effect.

Seems a waste for a valuable industrial chemical. Iceland has lots of geothermal and hydropower cheap too. They could use the CO2 plus water and off peak electricity to make a slew of fuels(alcohols, kerosene, petrol) chemicals(ethylene, butane, propene)or sugars/proteins/lipids using power to X technology. CO2 provides needed carbon atom and the water plus electrons the hydrogen and Gibbs energy.

A single Boeing 757 emits 866,000 tones of CO2 a year. This boondoggle will capture 4% of the emissions of one airplane.

But wow, we feel good.

So maybe you are exaggerating the number of 0's needed, but your point is correct.

That one volcanic eruption in Iceland a few years ago released more CU2 and particulates than all of mankind.

Ever.
