Atheism Is Just Wishful Thinking for People Who Crave Less Meaning in Life

You might be surprised to find it there, but I put a long section in my new book on the Second Amendment dealing with Darwinism. Was I being undisciplined, maybe? Was my editor out to lunch, allowing me to rant about anything and everything, both on topic and off?

Not really. I lay out in the book how the decline of the Christian worldview degrades our picture of man. Instead of the image of God arrayed with intrinsic value, moral accountability, and an eternal destiny, we’ve learned to see ourselves as slightly brainier apes — featherless bipeds of no particular cosmic significance. Our origin isn’t the sinless Adam painted by Michaelangelo, but some crude, grunting caveman. Our destiny isn’t glory, but icy oblivion.

So maybe all those “inalienable rights” we thought we’d been “endowed” with by “the Creator” were useful fictions, slaveowner slogans, or just wishful thinking. No wonder regimes treating Darwinism as dogma such as Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, and secularized U.S. blue states toss human rights like a match into Darwin’s toilet to drown. Suddenly it makes sense why leftists and other secularists have ceased to value freedom of speech, religious liberty, and the right of self-defense against both crime and criminal governments. They were fruits of a fantasy Tree of Life which our ancestors imagined. Hack it down, and they rot on the ground.

As I document in No Second Amendment, No First, the most powerful effect of Darwinism on Christians was to convince us on some deep level that our faith doesn’t deal with facts. It cannot survive rational scrutiny, cold-eyed reflection, and modern research. Instead of moral realities derived from philosophical truths and the facts of divine revelation our faith consists of “values,” of sentiments...

👍👍👍👍👍 Something tells, however, that a flame retardant suit isn’t going to help him very much. 😀

We joke about it, but the reality of hell, is that it will be a million times worse, than the worst thing one can ever imagine, in a million lifetimes.

Yes.

1,000,000 lifetimes x infinity = not a joke.

An imminent decision is crucial.

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1)

When one starts out being a fool, it's not hard to see why they wouldn't get any smarter about what is truth.

"the singularity"

Right after which comes a Voice: "Let there be light."

and ""the singularity" expands.

 My backstory...

Growing up, I didn't attend 'church' except a little when visiting relatives.

Most of my 'learning' came thru whatever was the prevailing culture in America at the time.

I'd had the standard US public education (40's - 50's) up to high school and then I joined the Air Force.

During tech school training in Denver, I was dating this local girl who lived close to the base.

One crisp fall evening, we'd been watching the boob tube - Late Night Movie. It was about some miracle(s) at Lordes. Now the girl was interested in the movie, while I was more interested in trying to do things that'll getcha in a position to NEVER be considered for the Supreme Court. Needless to say; I knew as much about the female gender as rocket science; so at least SHE'LL will never be able to Kavanaugh me!

Anyway; upon leaving her house early in the morning, I was walking back to the base; about 1.5 miles IIRC; thinking of the movie. Sorry; but I could not see any 'god' in those healings or whatever.

I was a rational sort; the kind that put his faith in what I could figger out for himself. I went clear back to the teaching I'd gotten about the Big Bang and evolution and the stuff that school wants you to understand.

The clear Colorado night sky was ablaze with stars in that mile high air. "Yeah!", I thought. "After the BB everything was formed and earth and everything came to be and the primordial goo got to churnin' and then little squally things came to pass and then the fishys and the birds and the cows and the apes and finally Man and then ME!"

That Einstein was RIGHT!

E=mc2 explained it all!!

Happy that a vexing movie was now debunked; I continued toward the base, mulling over mass and energy and light (Darn near none of which did I really understand).

Happy that Einstein's equation had gelled my thoughts on the problem, my analytical brain coughed up the fact that equations can be re-written and they are still true.

Thus E=mc2 could be rearranged to be...

m=E/c2

So there it was; all that MASS in the universe; all them stars out there; all them planets and moons and meteors and bugs and birds and me - all MASS!

As I neared the guard at the gate; an idea, a thought, a whisper, or a Voice said to me, "So... where did the ENERGY come from?"

And THAT, ladies and germs, is the ultimate question that got even the brilliant Einstein to honestly admit there had to be a first cause, a designer - that existed in eternity, to explain it.

I remember as a little kid staring up into the sky and wondering how high was the sky? what was after the sky? a wall? how far did the wall go? what was after the wall?....I finally had to stop thinking as my head was starting to hurt. There are infinite things our finite minds are woefully inadequate to comprehend. That's why God says it is our faith that pleases Him and that He will reward those who diligently seek Him.

And it's not just the energy, but there has to be that dividing factor: the speed of LIGHT squared.

Until the words - Let There Be LIGHT! - were uttered, only Energy existed.

This then is the message which we have heard from Him and declare unto you: that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. (I John 1:5)

He alone is immortal and dwells in unapproachable light. No one has ever seen Him, nor can anyone see Him. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. (I Timothy 6:16)

He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent (Psalm 104:20
