The waters of Santa Cruz attract plenty of marine life, including those with doctorate degrees.
KSBW 8 producer Estevan Lopez says he was dining out when his brother spotted Alfred Molina on the Fourth of July.
Molina is best known for playing Spider-Man villain Dr. Otto Octavius (Doc Ock for short) in "Spider-Man 2" and most recently in 2021 in "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
Lopez said he was dining at Copal watching a soccer match.
Molina was very kind and asked if they wanted a selfie.
Maybe calling him a supervillain is a bit of an exaggeration after doing such a kind thing.
Ping
I’ve seen Molina in many movies, but, honestly, if I saw him eating in a restaurant in Santa Cruz I’d have never recognized him.
His portrayal of Doctor Octopus in Spider-man 2 was superb. As a long time comic book fan I was very impressed with how well he fit the role. Hemsworth as Thor and Hiddleston as Loki were excellent and Edward Norton was a great Bruce Banner.
He looks like any other middle aged diner.
Dining tip: Aracely Cafe on Treasure Island! Yum. Just had the lemon waffle with whipped yogurt, grilled apricots and peaches, carmelized pine nuts, and maple syrup. Wow, was that good
Very strange that this made the news. I wonder if any Superman actors ever eat.
I will sleep better tonight.
Spiderman 2? I thought there at least 5 or 8 already. is this a new numbering system modeled after Star Wars?
He had an Academy Award winning performance in Dudley Do-Right.
Funny, his very brief role in “Raiders...” is the first character that comes to mind when I see the name Alfred Molina.
Same here, even though I do think he was excellent in Spider-Man.
Obviously, I am the same way.
Did they calculate the carbs and sugars on that meal? Just curious.
Gee, I forgot to look.
