Nearly 70 percent of progressive voters say President Biden should suspend his campaign after last week’s debate performance, a new survey found.
The poll, conducted by Our Revolution, surveyed more than 17,000 progressive Democratic voters and found 67 percent of them say it’s time for Biden to step aside.
The calls for a new candidate were squashed by the White House and Biden campaign in recent days. Biden and his team insist he is ready to beat former President Trump.
Although Biden’s lackluster debate performance has sparked panic among Democrats about his ability to lead the country and take on Trump in the polls this November, he hasn’t lost immense amounts of support among progressive voters.
Just 32 percent of respondents say they’re less likely to support Biden after the debate, while 57 percent say his performance didn’t affect their support.
The results indicate that while Democrats are urging the party to find a replacement candidate to top the ticket, they may fall in line if Biden stays to take on Trump.
The survey was first reported Tuesday in Politico Playbook.
Fifteen percent of progressives say they are unlikely or very unlikely to vote for Biden if he remains the nominee, and 11 percent are unsure what they would do. Sixty-five percent say they are very likely going to vote for Biden, the survey found.

Will he make it through the week?
You got to hand it to the progressive for scoring high in the brain dead category. 65% of them still would vote for a POTUS who exhibits high level dementia.
Not buying it until it shows up in all the other polling.
Never under estimate the greed and power madness of a Biden. They will burn down the democrat party rather than give up a grain of power, money or influence.
“ Biden’s lackluster debate performance “
“Lackluster”. The rat propagandists at The Hill are working overtime at damage control.
They will vote for a cardboard cutout. Progressives have almost unshakable faith in the deep state technocrats.
Surprised he got through Monday. That debate left no doubt, and no need to check the polling.
The only thing that might explain the delay is the Boiled Frog Factor. People close to the situation see it every day and don’t realize how bad it is because it’s not discernibly worse than yesterday. He got through yesterday he can get through today. The outsider, more objective, sees Biden’s condition clearly.
What matters is the Democrats internal polling—which will probably never see the light of day.
It is human nature to kick the can down the road as far as you can.
One day at a time is the Biden campaign’s motto at this point.
It is a zombie campaign at this point.
Biden likely will not be the Democrat’s nominee and their inner circle is scrambling to find how they can replace him. Big payoffs will be needed for “Dr” Jill and Kamala to get them out of the way. However, the big problem for Democrats is who will they get to replace Joe. Kamala is the obvious choice, but that won’t happen. The oft mentioned names of Newsom, Whitmer, Michele Obama and Pritzker are all non starters. Hillary of course is scheming a comeback, but that ship has already sailed. The list of also ran Democrat candidates from 2019 is equally abysmal. It will be interesting to watch.
Turnabout is fair play
I think he should remain in office and continue to be the democRAT Party candidate. He is their perfect representative.
He just won 99% of the delegates in his party’s primary elections.
Now they want him out?
So much for “democracy”. So much for their own belief in their ability to choose.
If (and when) Biden drops out of the campaign he will have to resign from presidency. If is not not competent and coherent to run for reelection, he is also not prepared to be president today. He can’t take that 3 a.m. call today. He needs to immediately resign.
Why not just go full Socialist moonbat with Bernie?
What do you mean? Would Democrats reach back to Bernie? I don’t think he’s relevant today. Let Democrats flounder trying to figure out who leads their party, who their nominee is, etc. Biden resigning today is in our national interest, we’ll survive Harris for a few months, we’d have Speaker Johnson as next in line. I doubt congress could agree upon a new VP and historically it’s not unreasonable for the spot to sit empty for months. Besides, once or as Biden resigns, someone can get standing to force discussion of once-deported Harris is not a natural born citizen and not qualified to be president.
He taps out on Wednesday, before the 4th. (heh)
It's only poetic justice, since the Democrats will burn down the United States rather than give up a grain of power, money or influence.
How long until they switch to RFK, Jr. if the Rats don’t replace Dementia Joe?
