July 11th, Anyone? (Vanity)

Let's remember that appeals on any Juan Merchan sentencing will go to another progressive court in NY. The news I've read indicates that the Supremes are unlikely to intervene (hard to believe).

“The news I’ve read indicates that the Supremes are unlikely to intervene (hard to believe).”

Just this week, lead by Amy Conehead Barrett, they decided that it was just fine for the CIA/FBI/Homeland security to coordinate censorship with social media companies, and to spy and send them lists of accounts they wanted to be banned.

It is now more imperative than ever, given Biden’s debate “effort”, for the dems to impose a long prison sentence. But Trump should be able to get bail on appeal.

Interestingly, given a decision from the Supreme Court this term demanding a unanimous verdict, his motion for a new trial should be granted. It won’t be, of course.

Don't bank on it.

I was just telling a friend that I think Biden’s meltdown at debate means Trump will be sent to jail on 11th because they are desperate to make him look “bad” after the debate.

“The news I’ve read indicates that the Supremes are unlikely to intervene (hard to believe)”. God is likely to intervene. Easy to believe.

After the debate debacle, Judge Merchan will absolutely sentence Trump to prison. It’s the only move they have left. Look for something like 7-10 years, but most of it suspended, but minimum 2 years actual jail time.

This judge will very likely send Trump to jail.

Just look at his previous behavior.

Plus his daughter could make millions fundraising for Democrats.

I think she’s a basic issue feminist, except anti-abortion. Beyond that, she’s just a feminist who supports the swamp.

And yet she’s been conservative on other issues, including overturning Roe versus Wade so there is that.

Is there any justice, including Thomas and Alito, who we can honestly say we agree with every single opinion they’ve ever issued?

Are you aware of NY case or statutory law allowing a ruling of no bail on appeal to stand in a non capital case?

In order for The Supremes to intervene, Trump’s lawyers have to go to federal court, with some legal reason as to why his trial and his prosecution was legally suspect. And also why they say there was a violation of federal law somehow.

Have Trump’s attorneys done anything along those lines?

I just don’t see how the Court can ignore the potential for the need of immunity for the CINC in certain cases, at least. An example would have been FDR’s internment of Japanese Americans at the outbreak of WWII here. And, the left-leaning justices had better be thinking of just how BIDEN can/will be charged for multiple criminal (IMO) acts when he loses in November.

I think we’ll see at least some limited immunity approved for certain types of actions.

Agreed. Then the Court will send the case back to decide the preliminary fact of whether Trump’s actions (what ever they were) fall within the ambit f Presidential duties. It should be a legal constitutional issue.

I think there are such issues, but since Trump has some poor attorneys I don’t know if they have the wherewithal to fight against that.
