Jeff Landry, the governor of Louisiana, has been stirring a hornets’ nest recently by promoting a law that mandates the Ten Commandments in that state’s public schools. Already the ACLU are suing to block the new bill on behalf of some parents.
Fox News reports on the controversy Gov. Landry has sparked. The governor said: “I didn’t know that it was so vile to obey the Ten Commandments.

Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery is, sadly, still a fan favorite. Its cousin, divorce, is all the rage.
Call me when the divorce incidence level is closer to the pre-Communist Revolution level.
To the world, I hope. They need the law.
To those in Christ I certainly hope not because we are not under the law.
The New Covenant of Grace (Hebrews 8:8-13; 10:16-17) is making a worldwide comeback in the Body of Christ.
Seems like divorce is on the decline. But when it comes to divorce, there are always some people with multiple marriages and divorces. There are still a whole bunch of people who get married and NEVER divorce.
Thank god posting a list of rules on a piece of paper on the wall in the corner of a classroom is gonna magically change the lives of kids glued to their iphones
This is good to compare and contrast messaging. For example, why is it ok to have all these homosexual “pride” and “safe spaces” messaging in school, but not ok to have the 10 commandment messaging? How exactly do we determine what’s ok and what is considered offensive?
Without a conscience or a soul, the democRATS cannot handle the word “not” in any form or context. Though shall not - is a very limiting phrase. Just like the Constitution, it limits your actions. The thing the democRATS want to limit is freedom of regular people. The main ‘commandment’ in the Leftist world is “To Each, According To Their Need, From Each According To Their Ability.” And the Leftists deciding what everyone needs. One of the myriad of reasons they are so afraid of President Trump is he proved just how much energy is below our feet. Abundant, inexpensive energy equals more freedom and the Leftists cannot stand a free people making their own decisions about....well.....anything. Hussein openly stated just how ‘great’ the Communist Chinese system performs. Decisions are made at the top and “things get done.” The affect of the decisions on every day people, oh well. To the Chicoms, to Hussein, people are commodities to do with as they will. If a few dozen, or a few million die in the process, oh well.
In all of the government institutions where the Ten Commandments are displayed only one tablet is exposed. So just the secular laws are visible. This makes the argument about separation between church and state mute.
The incidence of divorce IS declining, but so is the incidence of marriage - there is less feedstock.
I don’t mean to be preachy (ok…maybe a little) but divorce destroys families and children. It’s more corrosive to society than trans, WEF, and Soros. And it’s a mortal sin.
People reach for divorce like they do abortion to solve a “problem.” People on this board rail against abortion for birth control. And rightly so. But mention divorce and they scatter.
I’m happy people want to re-embrace the Commandments. But morality isn’t a buffet. I agree that Johnny getting reassignment surgery a 5 years of age is a terrible Idea. However, we should explore how much Dad dumping Mommy or visa versa set off that problem.
Until then, these symptoms will grow.
One could say the same thing about the Flag. Anyway, the Pledge should be recited every morning in every school in America. Otherwise get out.
Destroying the Police and rule of law in the US m ight have something to do with it.
There are no atheists in the foxhole; Atheism works best for the haves and not the have nots.
We are talking about the 10 commandments, not the pledge
Yes.
