Globally, more than 1 million curable sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are contracted every day in people aged 15–49. These include chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis, among others.
In Australia, it’s estimated one in six people will receive an STI diagnosis in their lifetime – and the numbers are going up.
Very few common infections are stigmatised in the way STIs are, which makes them a particularly complex public health problem. Stigma perpetuates shame and anxiety among those diagnosed with an STI, which can lead people to delay testing or treatment.
Stigma can also make it difficult for people to tell their sexual partners about an STI diagnosis. A recent study found only around half of people disclosed or believed they should disclose an STI to a partner before having sex.

In New York City, you can be fined up to a quarter of a million dollars for willfully "misgendering" a cross-dresser, so maybe it IS here now.

Basically its because it will make the discloser “feel bad” and “lose status”.
If he’s one to meet skanks online for sex, perhaps the skank was correct that she didn’t have chlamydia. Maybe he caught it by being a skank with someone else.
I always find it amazing that not a single historically set story I have ever read explains correctly WHY men wanted to sleep with virgins!

Yes, that's possible, although some of these Gen-Z guys are not ashamed to share their lifestyle stories, so he has no reason to lie - and their peers mostly could not care less. We have indeed produced a society that has less shame and almost no standards for sexual morality. This one guy was kind of an "incel" who generally prefers video-games and watching sports to chasing women.
I'm "the old guy" because I told them I got married young and have been married to the same woman for almost 25 years. I try to counsel them in a non-judgmental way

An attitude of "It's all about me and what I need" coupled with zero intention of it being a long term relationship may have a lot to do with it.

They really had to “do a study” to figure this out. Unbelievable.
Interesting theory but the rates of std infection have been epidemic and continue to rise. So a lot of people are having unprotected sex with someone.
“STI” is another attempt to “de-stigmatize” what we’re talking about. “Disease” implies sickness with symptoms. “Infection” can imply experienced symptoms but is more just a statement that a disease pathogen is present, though sometimes asymptomatic.
I really don’t get these devious semantic games. HIV infection is called “HIV status” but not AIDS unless the infection causes large enough drop in defensive T-cells. So you can be “HIV-positive” without having AIDS. That’s like a woman 3 weeks pregnant saying she’s not pregnant because it’s not affecting her body yet.
Remember that asymptomatic COVID was still called a “disease” worthy of state-enforced quarantine and/or the constant wearing of face diapers.

God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified (Mt. 19:4–6) - and Scripture only condemns homosexual relations wherever they are manifestly dealt with.
And homosexual relations have been tragically primarily responsible for approx. 80% of new HIV cases among men and over 700,000 American deaths, though such is not even the decisive reason why homosexual relations are wrong.

My last meeting with HR was to try to explain that the folders labeled STD stood for "Short Term Disability" and I was not keeping track of employees with social diseases.
I really wish we would just go back to VD. It is short and there are not a lot of other things it could be.
Meanwhile, I do not hear of smokers being called victims” of cancer, nor anti-smokers being call nicophobic and penalized for being so.
And yet citing stats on STIs often results in these being called false.
