You've obviously missed my point(s). I think Hey Nineteen pretty nicely sums up my attitude. And for the record DJT was in his 50s when Barron was born. A much smaller age gap *and* IMO a younger woman can enjoy the company of a 50 year old guy more than a 72 year old guy.

While I tend to agree with you, it’s still none of our business unless she reaches out seeking help. Which is why I would never seek out a relationship with a much younger woman. But sometimes what our perceptions are, is not necessarily what the reality is between two people. I think she is seeking a sugar daddy myself. Someone who can provide her nice things, and take care of her in order to live a lifestyle well beyond her expectations and possibly provide her with a lifestyle that will last her entire lifetime, and his lifetime would not be a long term time. Thus, the sacrifice is worth it as far as she is concerned.

Given that I'm about Bill's age I'm thinking of this from his standpoint. Of course she's looking for $$$ and/or status rather than sharing the deep connection than many women crave in a marriage. And of course he's looking for...well,whatever. She is a very pretty girl with a *very* pleasing face.

As I mentioned above my girlfriend is 60...an age gap of 10+ years. With even that relatively small gap there are some experiences that we don't have in common but happily the gap isn't big enough to be a problem. But despite my efforts I still can't get her to like...or understand...The Yardbirds!

Well, I am not engaged in war with you, but it's telling that you believe we are at war. We are just looking at this from differing perspectives.

If I find anyone at fault here, it's the woman. For I'm convinced that she is a gold digger. If a woman is after money, then why get involved with a man that possibly has several decades still ahead of him? So, she has found a much older man who can share his wealth, and if she can convince him to marry her, she might be left a nice inheritance, and still be young enough to enjoy herself while having her own wealth. Which may expand her opportunities to get a much younger even richer man to fall for her seductive wiles. Some younger men do the same with older women who are also vulnerable as well. They usually just con them out of everything they own, and move on.

I see Bill as the one being taken advantage of, but that too is his right. Old men can be big fools, and young women can reap big rewards as a result. As is the case here, the older man is always very wealthy.

So if you have any problem with this coupling, then it should be with the woman, not the man.

I must have missed that post, because this is the first time I am seeing that. Ten years is not that big of a split, but the age difference has nothing to do with her taste in music. I'm sure you share other likes musically.

But you still can't equate your relationship to their relationship, or even pretend to know what either of them are getting from the relationship. None of us can, so my point is why even concern ourselves with the coupling of two consenting adults, regardless of their motivations?

Consternation? Noooo! War? Noooo! Just a lively discussion. I don't see Bill as being evil here. Foolish? Very possibly...but not evil. As for the girl...unless I see evidence to the contrary I see her as a shallow piece of fluff...kinda like Kommie Harris, who slept with the most powerful man in Kalifornia (30 years her senior) in her quest for money and power.

We all know that this will end badly for Bill. And we know that any prenup she might have signed will be challenged by her. The only thing we don't know is what grounds she'll cite for her divorce petition.

BTW, a neighbor mine claimed he had a cousin who was in The Yardbirds, but he never said his name. Did he really have a cousin in the Yardbirds, or was he telling stories to impress?

But at that time, I had never heard of them, so I wasn't the least bit impressed. But now I wonder if he really did have a cousin in The Yardbirds, and wonder who it was. 🤣
